The chairman of the committee, Bagus Imam Syafi'i said that the exhibition carried the theme "Alienation". The theme departs from living conditions which in the last three years have experienced significant changes; increasingly developing in a direction that is closed from the real world but extends to the virtual world.
“The development of the digital world and the offer of various applications that are increasingly tempting, then lately there is the metaverse make us alienated from the real world and spend a lot of time in cyberspace. Trends are so fast, it makes people feel left behind. The feeling of fear of missing out (fomo) often comes," he explained.
Through the exhibition, he and his friends want to show that people are starting to be alienated from the real world due to technological developments and made worse by the Covid-19 pandemic. “This side of alienation or alienation as individual and social human beings in the midst of the onslaught of technology is what we convey through our works. It can be said as a reflection and education material for all of us," he explained.
On the other hand, he continued, this activity is a lesson for them to be sensitive to problems and provide an answer through their work. "We as designers are required to always grow and explore the latest trends and provide benefits through works," he said.
