The activity was held online which was attended by around 600 Unesa students.
The event, which targets 17 cities, is themed “Building a Country of Millions of Potential” with the aim of encouraging and inspiring young people to build the potential of digital startups in Indonesia. In addition, it is also to build an entrepreneurial mindset and be able to find the potential to form startups from problems found in everyday life.
On that occasion, there were experts, activists and founders of Indonesian startups such as Asri Wijayanti as Founder of Sewing.com, Ayrton Eduardo Aryaprabawa, S.S Founder of Crevolutionz, and Hujjatullah Fazlurrahman, S.E., M.B.A., Head of Unesa's Digital Business Study Program.
UNESA Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni Dr. Agus Hariyanto, M.Kes., on that occasion said that today's students are not only required to be critical and sensitive in observing problems. More than that, students are also required to be agents of change and can make solutive and concrete innovations that are useful for people's lives.
Even during the pandemic, he continued, technology has become a tool that makes it easier for young people to be able to continue to be creative. This era of information and communication technology advances should be utilized as well as possible. "I believe that my children (students participating in the roadshow, ed) here are very reliable in the field of technology management and use it to improve their skills and competencies," he said.
Agus Hariyanto encourages students to dare to explore and examine the existing problems and then find solutions with creative and innovative ideas. In addition, students must have a dynamic spirit and continue to learn. "Hopefully with this opportunity, new startups will emerge and the youth needed by the state to improve and advance the economy, create jobs and solve problems in society," he said encouraging the participants.
The event coordinator and Head of ICT Empowerment Implementation Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Sonny Sudaryana, S.T, M.MT., explained that the 1000 digital startup program is a program to support the development of the digital economy in Indonesia. "Let's dream, let's move to determine the direction of the nation in the era of the digital economy. Hopefully the digital startup program will provide many new job opportunities and bring Indonesia's digital economy transformation to a wider area," he said.
On that occasion, the Founder of Sewing.com, Asri Wijayanti, shared her experience in starting and developing her startup. Apparently, he founded Sewing.com in 2006 when he was an active student at one of the universities. "I thought about how to make an impact on others through startups," he said.
Ayrton Eduardo Aryaprabawa, the initiator of Startup Crevolutionz, explained that there are several things that must be prepared in building a startup. "The customer segmentation must be clear, networking can also help the sustainability of your business, make sure you make a good and well thought out bussiness canvas (MBC) model while consistently learning new skills," he said.
The activity ended with the presentation of material by Hujjatullah Fazlurrahman about creating a mindset as an entrepreneur. According to him, any aspect of business, whether traditional or digital-based, cannot be separated from one's mindset. From that mindset, narrowness and problems in everyday life can actually become opportunities. From the pressures and challenges it can be a way to move forward and develop. "If our mindset is positive, then our response is also positive and of course we will reap positive ideas and solutions," he said. “The entrepreneurial mindset is the same. If people generally condemn the darkness, but an entrepreneur actually brings a candle to light up the darkness,” he continued motivating. (Nov)
