Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya–The Recognition Program for Past Learning (RPL) at Surabaya State University (UNESA) and Yogyakarta State University (UNY) is currently underway. The program is 'made' by the Kemendes PDTT in collaboration with the Bojonegoro Regency Government, UNESA and UNY. The goal is clear, to improve the quality of village human resources and encourage the progress and welfare of rural communities.
In order to maintain quality and facilitate tasks during the program, the Agency for Human Resource Development and Village Community Empowerment, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (BPSDM), the Ministry of Villages PDTT together with the Bojonegoro Regency Government, UNESA and Yogyakarta State University (UNY) signed a cooperation agreement in Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya on Friday, 27 May 2022.
Head of BPSDM, Kemendes PDTT, Prof. Dr. Luthfiyah Nurlaela, M.Pd., explained that the RPL program for villages is not to give certificates to participants who are actually village administrators and movers. However, to equip them with the skills and competencies needed to run village government and advance the village. “Participants who pass this program must be serious until the end. After graduating, you must meet the qualifications," he said.

The RPL for villages organized by UNESA and UNY becomes a reference for other universities, both public and private. Many universities have registered themselves as well as collaborated. "Therefore, we must continue to evaluate the implementation of this program. Where are the shortcomings and what needs to be improved. This is an important note for this program going forward. Of course, this is our commitment to make it a success,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UNY, Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, M.Kes., said that the program received an extraordinary response from various circles. The enthusiasm of the participants was quite high. It can be seen from the number of registrants. However, only those who meet the requirements and pass the test will be accepted. The selection process in the RPL is intended to sort out qualified and qualified human resources who will later help make the program a success.
UNESA Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd., said that this RPL has been implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture for a long time and has only been implemented for villages through the Ministry of Village, PDTT. This cooperation is to improve and modify it as much as possible. So that so many enthusiasts are vying to get a position in it, considering that this program is still very fresh in the public ear. "Our job is to ensure the quality of this program is in accordance with the needs in the village and make this an important breakthrough in accelerating village development," he said. [UNESA PR]
