
Leaders of UNESA and ISPI East Java held a meeting at the Rectorate to discuss plans for a Musda which will highlight crucial education issues.

SURABAYA - The East Java Indonesian Education Graduate Association (ISPI) in collaboration with Surabaya State University (Unesa) will hold a Regional Conference (Musda) on November 23 2024. The Musda, one of which has an agenda for the election of new management, is planned to be attended by delegates from various universities in East Java.
Certainty regarding the implementation of the East Java ISPI Musda was conveyed by the General Chairperson of East Java ISPI, Prof. Toho Cholik Mutohir, Ph.D during a cooperation coordination meeting and presentation of the ISPI program with Unesa on Wednesday, 16 October 2024, in the meeting room on the 8th floor of the Rectorate Building, Unesa Campus 2, Lidah Wetan, Surabaya.
Toho Cholik said, ISPI East Java has a strategic position and role as an educational undergraduate organization. Therefore, he hopes that the implementation of the Musda will not only produce new management that is fresher and more dynamic, but will also produce various contributions of energy and thought to the professional development of national education.
"One of the aims of this Musda is how to mobilize the extraordinary potential of ISPI East Java to be actualized, so that it can contribute to the development and application of educational science, for the progress and interests of the nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," explained the man who is also the former Chancellor of Unesa.
The Director of the Sports Science Agency of the Ministry of Youth and Sports added that ISPI East Java has so far made quite a big contribution. He gave an example, recently, ISPI East Java has provided a policy brief, namely a brief article relating to research results to policy makers and offering recommendations for making or improving policies regarding education in Indonesia.
"We have submitted it to the Central ISPI, and later it will be submitted to the president as a guide for making policies in the education sector. "I think ISPI East Java's contribution as an individual has actually been made," he said.

This meeting also discussed strengthening collaboration and contributions in encouraging the acceleration of regional development through education.
In the future, Toho Cholik hopes ISPI East Java further optimizes its role and contribution through various things, such as webinars which can be useful for increasing the competence of teachers, especially in East Java. "Well, I hope that with the new management, the East Java ISPI organization can be more dynamic and energetic," he added.
Meanwhile, Joko Adi Waluyo, Secretary of ISPI East Java, added that education-based universities have many extraordinary young educators. So, through the Musda later, young educators will be encouraged to be active in the East Java ISPI organization. This is because the ISPI organization needs leaders from young people so that the organization is more dynamic and has fresher thinking.
"Musda will later produce an organizing model, where senior professors will be supporting in the scientific field, and those who run the organization will be young administrators," said the former Chancellor Adi Buana PGRI Surabaya.
Furthermore, he said, ISPI East Java would be a place to disseminate or disseminate educational issues to Indonesian education scholars so that they have actual thoughts for the future.
