Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The State University of Surabaya (UNESA) released eight students to a number of overseas campuses on Thursday, July 14, 2022 in the Meeting Room, 7th Floor, Lidah Wetan Campus Rectorate Building, Surabaya. The release ceremony was led directly by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd., and Head of the International Affairs Office (KUI) Asrori, S.S., M.Pd.
Asrori explained that the eight students were divided into two programs. Five of them went to King Mongkut's University Thailand on a student exchange program. While the other three students are students who passed the IISMA program. They have been to Spain, California-USA and the Czech Republic.
“Five students who went to Thailand participated in a student exchange program for more than a month. Besides that, it is also a form of implementation of cooperation between UNESA and King Mongkut University Thailand," he explained.
The students who went to Thailand were Fani Zalfa Umaroh (Faculty of Engineering), Esther Jessica (Faculty of Language and Arts), Lerysta Widyashanti Suhantyo (Faculty of Engineering), Fakhriza Anwar (Faculty of Engineering), and Kenny Aronza Marrung (Faculty of Education).
Meanwhile, three IISMA students who passed were Dara Nabila Salsabyla who went to Universidad de Granada, Spain, Daffa Putra Amrullah Sigit went to University of California-Davis, USA and Syifaa Khoirunnisa went to Palacky University Olomouc, Czech Republic.

"These three students are the first UNESA students to successfully pass the IISMA program, and they will undergo lectures in their destination country for one semester," said Asrori.
On that occasion, Bambang Yulianto advised students that the opportunity to study abroad could be utilized properly and maximally. Not everyone gets that chance. Entering another country has its own challenges, therefore UNESA students must be good at carrying themselves and adapt quickly.
“Do your best, be proud of yourself, your family, campus and country wherever you study. If you need to find the S-2 link there. Expand network. All of you are ambassadors of the younger generation abroad, while maintaining the good name of Indonesia and the university. I believe you can give your best, come home later with the best supplies for Indonesia," he motivated.
“You guys must open up opportunities for other students to experience studying abroad. You are an example. Take full advantage of this opportunity, so that other countries can see. This is a golden opportunity. Hopefully you can develop yourself to the maximum there and come home with special provisions for Indonesia," he said. [UNESA PR]
