Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA—Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK) Surabaya State University (UNESA) are the Indonesian delegates at the 10th ASEAN Council of Physical Education and Sport (ACPES) International Conference which will take place on 18-20 September 2024 at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malaysia.
Muchamad Arif Al Ardha, FIKK lecturer who attended the activity said that this conference was attended by a number of academics, researchers and sports practitioners from various ASEAN countries. Including a group from UNESA who took an active role in various scientific activities held throughout the conference.
The UNESA delegation consisting of lecturers and students contributed to discussions and presentations which were the core of the event. One of the main agendas for the 10th ACPES is an oral presentation (oral presentation) and a poster presentation (poster presentation), where participants have the opportunity to present the latest research results them in front of experts and practitioners.
Topics raised at the conference include various innovations in physical education, the development of more effective sports training methods, sports health, as well as the integration of technology and digitalization in the world of sports, which all of them have become hot and relevant discussion topics in this modern era.
"This activity is very important, because it has a contribution to the development of sports science in the Southeast Asia region," he said.
Resulting in Awards
In the poster presentation session, Sauqi Sawa Bikalawan, a student of the UNESA Sports Education Master's program, won the prestigious award as "Best Poster Presenter." This award is recognition of the quality of performance and innovation shown in presenting research results.
This achievement not only makes UNESA proud, but also shows the ability of Indonesian students to compete and excel at the international level. This achievement also proves UNESA's commitment to supporting the advancement of science and research in the field of sports.
Apart from individual achievements, UNESA's participation in the 10th ACPES also creates strategic opportunities to expand networks and collaboration with various educational and research institutions in Southeast Asia.
This momentum is expected to strengthen Indonesia's role in the international arena, especially in the field of sports science, as well as encourage closer cross-country collaboration in sports research and development.
Results It is hoped that the research in this conference can be applied not only in the academic environment, but also make a real contribution to wider society. Especially in the aspects of improving the quality of physical education, public health, as well as developing sports achievements at various levels.
The resulting innovations are also expected to be able to answer global challenges in the health and sports sectors which continue to develop rapidly. "Through participation in international conferences such as ACPES, it is hoped that research in the field of sports science will further develop with a more varied and innovative approach," explained Ardha.[]
