Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-The Surabaya State University Vocational Program collaborates with the Education, Youth and Sports Office (Dispora) and the Probolinggo Regency KONI in order to develop sports achievements in Probolinggo Regency. The cooperation was discussed at the Working Meeting in Probolinggo on Wednesday, 19 May 2021 which was attended by the ranks of the Unesa Vocational Program, Dispora and KONI Probolinggo Regency.
Dr. Martadi, M.Sn, Director of the Unesa Vocational Program said that the collaboration was in the context of developing special education in sports in Probolinggo. He continued that the Probolinggo government has a strategic program to develop a sports village. The plan is for each village to design villages that will facilitate the children so that they have sports achievements.
To support this strategic program, the Probolinggo Regency Government collaborated with Unesa, who indeed has advantages in the field of sports. Unesa's involvement in the program started from the nursery process to fostering children's achievement. The goal is that on one hand the energy of the children in the village can be channeled properly into positive activities and on the other hand, to give birth to seeds who excel in sports there.
"This program is planned to be launched together with the Regent of Probolinggo and the Chancellor of Unesa, but before that there will be a meeting and chat first in Surabaya," he said. "After launching, Unesa and the Probolinggo Regency Government will hold mentoring and training in these villages," he continued.
In relation to Vocational Unesa, Martadi explained that Vocational Unesa has a sports coaching program (D-4). Well, the team from the Sports Coaching Vocational Program will be involved in a lot of fields to provide assistance, coaching, and training.
In addition, the direction of cooperation will also accommodate children who excel in Probolinggo so that they can enter the Unesa vocational achievement path, especially in the Sports Coaching program. "This collaboration, on the one hand, is in the form of coaching a sports village in Probolinggo, and on the other hand, it is also in the form of recruiting high-achieving children to enter the Unesa Sports Coaching Vocational program.
