Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-Collaboration is the key to dealing with various conditions, including in the midst of this ongoing pandemic. Because of that, the State University of Surabaya cooperates with many parties so that a mass vaccine event can be held at Graha Unesa, Jl. Citra Raya Unesa, Lidah Wetan, Lakarsantri, Surabaya on Tuesday (03/08/2021).
"This vaccination and other assistance was held by SMCC Unesa together with the East Java Provincial Government, City Government, PMI, and so on," said Prof. Nurhasan, M.Kes, Chancellor of UNESA at the vaccine site. According to him, each party has an important role in encouraging the acceleration of vaccination both in Surabaya and East Java.
On that occasion, Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi, S.T., M.T said, regarding the acceleration of vaccination in Surabaya and East Java, apart from Unesa, the city government and the provincial government are planning a vaccine program at several other points in Surabaya. "There will be several points later, we will coordinate with Mrs. Governor of East Java, Pangdam V/Brawijaya, and Kapolda East Java, so we have an attack to convey herd immunity in Surabaya City," he said.
Eri added that by vaccinating 5,000 people at Unesa, it can accelerate the achievement of herd immunity in the city of Surabaya, so that the handling and vaccine program can be immediately focused on other areas. “At Unesa, the health workers are from us (City Government, ed) and essentially we are moving together to achieve herd immunity in Greater Surabaya, Malang Raya, and other areas. We will fill it up later," he said at Graha Unesa while reviewing vaccinations there.
Meanwhile, Boy Arno Muhammad, Head of Government Relations of Gojek in the Java-Bali area, who was present at the vaccine site, said that the acceleration of vaccination in the community is very important at this time. Therefore, he appreciates the cooperation of all parties and can collaborate for the vaccine program at Unesa. "Unesa has been able to collaborate in helping the government to accelerate the vaccination program, including with the private sector," he said.
According to him, to date, almost 70 percent of Gojek drivers in the Java and Bali areas have received vaccines, including those at Unesa. "Hopefully our friends in the field can survive in difficult times, can stay healthy and safe and can continue to provide good service to the community," he hoped.
The collaboration between Unesa and Gojek is actually not only this time, but there have been previous collaborations. In his chat with the Unesa leadership. Boy Arno and the Chancellor of Unesa discussed plans for cooperation in developing MSMEs in East Java in the future. Technically, it will be discussed again in the near future.
Prof. Nurhasan, M.Kes said that his party is very open to cooperation with all parties. Especially in dealing with the spread of Covid-19 in the community. "The parties that we can certainly cooperate with, let's go together and work together for the common good. We must unite steps and strengthen humanity. Especially in difficult times like today," he said.
He added that the role of online motorcycle taxi drivers during the pandemic was quite significant. When the policy requires residents to stay at home, it is the ojol friends who help bring those who are far away, either in the form of delivery or purchase of basic necessities, medicines, to food needs outside the home.
“We cannot ignore the struggles of our Ojol diver friends, yes, they are in the field, going here and there to help residents through their services. That's why we provide vaccine quotas for Gojek drivers in East Java," he added. "Hopefully this can help and as a form of our collaboration together so that we can be safe and secure and the pandemic can soon pass," hoped the man who is usually called Cak Hasan.
Adhistya Hidayah, one of the Gojek drivers, stated that the vaccination service at Unesa was quite helpful in his work, which worked with customers all the time. Even though he still applies the health protocol, he admitted that it is still important to follow the vaccine because it is part of the effort so that it is not too risky in the field. "Appreciation and thanks to Unesa, the provincial government, the city government, and all of them," he said. (Has/zam)
