Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Vaccinations, implementation of health protocols, and good immunity are important self-defense during a pandemic. In order to meet the body's immune needs during the Covid-19 emergency, UNESA students mixed special tea drinks from Telang flowers and Lampes leaves.
The content of these two ingredients is believed to be able to increase the body's immunity. The product, named Telam Tea, is the work of students from the Natural Sciences Study Program and the UNESA Economics Study Program.
Khofifah Indar Parawangsa, the head of the Telam Tea Development Team, said that these two ingredients have many ingredients and properties for immunity. Among them are calcium, zinc, iron, chlorophyll, and vitamins A, C, and K.
"From its various contents, it makes these ingredients capable of increasing body immunity, natural antioxidants, treating inflammation, preventing cancer, overcoming coughs, and treating intestinal worms, mumps, and so on," he said.
Telang and Lampes are found in the Lamongan area. This type includes plants that are easy to cultivate. He added that the production of Telam Tea had previously passed the research stage which was carried out since June 2021 and received funding for the Student Creativity Program in Entrepreneurship (PKM-K) from the Director General of Learning and Student Affairs.
Telang Tea has a distinctive color, namely turquoise. The process of making tea is quite simple. First, all the ingredients are washed and then dried in the sun and heated using an oven to clean bacteria. Then the results are packaged using tea bags.
The 'green' tea has entered the market and is well received by the public. At the beginning of the sale alone has sold more than 50 items. In order to increase the marketing reach of these products, the PKM team has collaborated with MSMEs in Lamongan and its surroundings.
In the future, said Khofifah, they will add variants of the Telam Tea product, expand the network of cooperation with MSMEs in various regions and attend various entrepreneurship seminars. "Hopefully this Telam Tea can develop and become one of the alternative ingredients to increase people's body immunity during the pandemic and after the pandemic," he hoped. #KreasiMudaUNESA (UNESA PR)
