Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-The UNESA String Chamber recently brought home silver after winning second place in the Trio and Quintet categories at the 2021 International Grand Music Festival. The music group from the Faculty of Language and Arts UNESA consists of five students. They are Riki Duwi Novanto, Sih Pungki Bernad Julianto, Rifqi Farros, Kenno Richie and Alif Urip Muhammad.
Previously, the UNESA String Chamber had often performed and demonstrated skills in each competition and often made achievements. Sih Pungki Bernad Julianto said that this achievement did not come by chance or just by luck. But all based on effort and struggle.
That's what members of the Unesa String Chamber did, making preparations long before the prestigious event was held. They also routinely exercise both independently and together offline two or three times a week.
The student majoring in Ballet FBS UNESA added that undergoing training during the pandemic was indeed quite challenging. On the one hand, health protocols must be observed and on the other hand musical skills must continue to be improved. Moreover, there are members of the Unesa String Chamber who live outside the city of Surabaya. "Well, the challenge is there, and a situation like that is certainly prone to saturation, but we choose to remain enthusiastic, consistent, and finally produce results," he said.
He continued that behind their achievements, there are motivators and mentors who are always patient and loyal to accompany them during their training. Their supervising lecturers during the training were Harpang Yudha Employeeto, S.Pd., M.Pd, Marda Putra Mahendra S.Pd., M.Pd, and Tomy Agung Sugito S.Pd., M.Pd.
"This achievement is not only a symbol of pride and a symbol of struggle, but also a motivation to continue to achieve better things in the future," he said. "Hopefully Unesa String Chamber will remain enthusiastic, compact and can continue to make achievements in prestigious events at both national and international levels," hoped the man who was sitting in the sixth semester.
