Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) held the Ukhuwah Wathaniyah National Koran with the theme 'Caring for Brotherhood in the Middle of Diversity' at Graha Sawunggaling, on Friday, 29 November 2024.
The national Koran presented K.H. Imam Hambali and Abah Topan as speakers were attended by university leaders, faculties, study programs and the community around the 'Home of Champions' campus.
Vice Chancellor I for Education, Student Affairs and Alumni, Madlazim, representing the chancellor, said, that this activity is to strengthen a sense of brotherhood amidst diversity as the foundation of national and state life.
Diversity is a nation's wealth that must be well maintained. Indonesia consists of various tribes and races. If this diversity is not maintained, there is a risk of division.
"This study is a reflection of the values of Pancasila and our commitment to the Republic of Indonesia," said the professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).
He reminded that as the next generation, the responsibility to maintain unity lies in the hands of young people or students, especially in facing the challenges towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.

Director of Student and Alumni Affairs, Muhamad Soleh, said that this recitation aims to strengthen ties of brotherhood and foster a spirit of unity amidst the diversity of the Indonesian nation.
The lecturer at the Faculty of Education (FIP) emphasized the important role of UNESA as the vanguard in developing the younger generation for a better future for Indonesia.
"The vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045 can only be realized through strengthening human resources through education . "Of course human resources are not only competent, but have a strong sense of nationality," he said.
K.H. Imam Hambali on that occasion conveyed the importance of maintaining ukhuwah or a sense of brotherhood as a basis for maintaining Indonesia's diversity. He reminded that a sense of brotherhood is the key to maintaining the unity of the Indonesian nation in the future.
"We must maintain brotherhood, because if we do not maintain unity, we will be divided. Indonesia, which is diverse in ethnicity, race and religion, can only survive if we look after each other," he said.
K.H. Imam Hambali also emphasized the importance of being patient and grateful in facing differences. "Every human being has been given his own sustenance. Don't let jealousy and envy destroy our brotherhood," he added.[*]
