After passing a series of program demands, the 1st batch of PPG Prajab students in 2023 were declared graduates. They took part in the inauguration and took the professional oath at LPSP UNESA.
Unesa. ac.id., SURABAYA—The Surabaya State University (UNESA) Professional Education and Certification Institute (LPSP) confirmed and took the professional oath of pre-service Teacher Professional Education (PPG) graduates batch 1 in 2023 at the LPSP Building Auditorium, 9th floor, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan , on Saturday, September 14 2024.
The activity with the theme "Preparing Professional Educators Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045" was attended by the leadership, deans and environmental directors of UNESA, as well as the Head of PGRI Surabaya City, and Representatives of the Surabaya City Department.
In his remarks, the Head of the Teacher Professional Education Agency (BPPG), Fatkur Rohman Kafrawi said that as many as 1,014 of the 1,080 PPG graduate students took part in this wave of professional inaugurations and oaths. Therefore, the 2023 pre-service PPG pass rate percentage reaches 94%.
The Chairman of UNESA MWA conveyed the message of the importance of mastering and developing the competencies that have been learned. Quality improvement must continue to be carried out by continuing to learn wherever you are.
“We "implementing the mandate from the government, that the pre-service PPG program in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia must have quality teaching human resources, so this program starts from input that has been filtered in a disciplined manner and is ready to become a professional teacher candidate," he said.
On the same occasion, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (MWA), Haris Supratno emphasized the importance of being a professional teacher who has several special requirements that must be met by the nation's prospective educators."To be a teacher you must master pedagogical knowledge , knowledge competency according to their field of expertise, and social competency where a teacher must be flexible in communicating with anyone. "Teachers must be comforting to their students, both through oral and written communication, a teacher is not only smart but also has good character," he said.
The teacher professional oath-taking procession was represented by 2 PPG graduates, namely Efrina Wahyuningtyas and Nova Soleman Nitti was accompanied by clergy Julianto and Anung Priambodo. The professional oath was led directly by the Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Development, Cooperation and Information and Communication Technology, Martadi.

In his speech, Martadi explained the opportunity Not all students experience this PPG program, every UNESA PPG graduate must always learn and adapt to global demands.
According to him, teachers are admired and imitated. This means that teachers become role models for their students, therefore they are required to set an example and have good morals. Changes in education are currently developing very rapidly, therefore he advised to continue learning and study throughout your life because education continues to change.
"Wherever you end up, protect the good name of UNESA, because on your shoulders the honor of the university rests ", and maintain the good name of the teaching profession, because to be a professional teacher you also have to join a professional organization such as PGRI to perfect the professional teacher you are," he concluded.[]
