Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya–The State University of Surabaya had the opportunity to host the "Gathering and Iftar with Ms. Arumi with the East Java New Normal Puslatda Athlete" at the International Futsal Gor Unesa Lidah Wetan on Friday (30/4).
The event which was initiated by the East Java KONI, the Provincial Government of East Java in collaboration with Unesa as the host was attended by the chairman of the board of the All Indonesia Sports Women Association (PERWOSI) East Java Hj. Arumi Bachsin Emil Dardak S.E.
Besides that, there were also Ir. H. Erlangga Satriagung as the general chairman of KONI in East Java and Muhammad Nabil, Director of the Executive Agency (Bapel) of the Puslatda Koni East Java. Then also attended Dr. Maspiyah, M.Kes, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Drs. Arif Bulqini, M.Kes. as deputy dean of the General Affairs and Finance Faculty of Sports Science (FIO) and all its staff.
The joint breaking ceremony was also attended by 220 athletes from 13 sports who will compete in a prestigious sporting event in Indonesia, namely the 20th National Sports Week (XX PON) held in Papua. These athletes have undergone a long period of training and preparation and rarely get the opportunity to leave the training ground because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"We understand the condition of fellow athletes, of course there is boredom or maybe even feeling tired and tired, but all of these will have fruits to be picked. I hope that the fruit is the victory and success of East Java in the PON 2021 in Papua, "said Muhammad Nabil.
Muhammad Nabil advised the athletes to remain optimistic and enthusiastic in training and continue to improve their abilities in their respective sports. Athletes have only a few months left. Because, 20 October 2021 PON XX will start until November 4, 2021. "Hopefully our athletes can increase the chances of winning and win many gold medals for East Java in PON later," he hoped.
On that occasion, Arumi Bachsin also encouraged the athletes to make East Java proud through the highest achievements and medals at PON XX later. He also conveyed a message from the Deputy Governor of East Java for the athletes to stay enthusiastic and give their best for East Java.
"Training during the pandemic and during the fasting month is not an easy matter. However, we believe, friends are the best sons and daughters of East Java who were selected and of course have a good spirit and strategy in achieving achievements for superior East Java, "said Arumi. (Hasna / zam)
