Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-A total of 759 participants both from within and from abroad were involved in the International Webinar held by HMJ PG PAUD UNESA on Saturday, September 25, 2021. The event carried the theme "Intercultural Education in the Era of Pandemic: Youth Resilience in Innovating to Achieve International Recognition and SDGs" .
Nurul Khotimah, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the PG PAUD Department said that the total participants who attended were 759 people. From abroad, there were 16 participants from Cambodia, 27 participants from the Philippines, 3 participants from Germany, and 1 participant from Switzerland. He said that the webinar was an active effort by universities to support Indonesia in dealing with the impact of Covid-19 in society through maximizing the role of youth. "Our youth are creative people and they can be invited to contribute to helping the community," he said.
When opening the activity, Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd as the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation hopes that the webinar can be a forum to identify and explore the potential of youth and students so that they can play an active role in building and advancing the Indonesian nation through strategic roles and innovations.
The webinar presented three speakers. The first speaker was Raju Sahrial I, S, Kep., CEC., who is the 1st Runner Up for Indonesian Educational Children 2020. On that occasion he conveyed about the SDGs and the characteristics of young people and how to make the SDGs a success. According to him, youth have an important role in nation building. Now, youth are the economic force and the backbone of the country's development. "In accordance with the principle of inclusiveness of the SDGs that no one is left behind, youth are part of the target for achieving the SDGs," he said.
Then the second speaker is Dr. Ith Vuthy R. M.Sc. M.A. He said that the sustainable development goals (SDGs) were an "urgent call" to all countries in the global partnership. Alleviating poverty and other destitution between countries must go hand in hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth while tackling climate change and working to conserve oceans and forests.
Meanwhile, the third speaker, namely Dr. Mercy Karuniah Jesuvadian delivered material on family resilience in assisting children during the Covid-19 pandemic era. He said that in family resilience, parents and children must have a strong relationship. The pandemic period can strengthen the relationship between parents and children.
