All of the leaderboard of Unesa greets people in Papalang District. Mamuju, West Sulawesi on Saturday (25/1). On that occasion, the leaderboard of Unesa have communicated with the people affected by the disaster, and heard the stories of residents who were still in the refugee tent with all their sorrows.
One of papalang residents, Sitti Husnah said that the earthquake that occurred on January 14, 2021, not only destroyed the residence until it became rubble, but also impacted the psychic condition. Moreover, the earthquakes continue to occur that make residents more traumatized.
On behalf of other residents, Sitti thanked Unesa for sending volunteers to their place to do psychoeducation. "Alhamdulillah, the help from Unesa volunteers made our condition (traumatized, red) improve through interesting and enjoyable activities for both children, teenagers and for us adults. We are very helped," said the teacher of Senior High School 1 Papalang.
Chairman of SMCC Unesa Dr. Diana Rahmasari, S.Psi., M.Si. responded that Unesa will continue to provide the best for the people affected by the disaster. The team of volunteers sent in the program "Unesa Peduli Mamuju and Majene" is the first step in volunteering work program and also having cooperation in the future, both with the local government and with the schools that are there.
Because of the basecamp of these activities at Senior High School 1 Papalang, many students were also involved. The students are curious about Unesa; campuses all the way from Java island are present to ease the burden on the residents there. Some students of Senior High School 1 Papalang even asked about the study program, terms and entrance of Unesa and its scholarship options.
"Entering Unesa can be through SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and independent selection. Most importantly, schools and students take care of the data in Dapodik and ensure the school data, students and data on the student's KTP or kk are appropriate," said Amin Fauzi Kasubag Of Student Welfare Unesa.
Then for scholarships, it can be through the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIPK) program, education affirmation scholarships (ADIK), and religious achievement scholarships, sports, and leadership. "For special scholarships for students affected by the earthquake, it can be through recommendations and coordination between schools and Unesa," said Head of Public Relations Unesa, Vinda Maya Setianingrum. "Hopefully my friends and residents there will recover quickly after the disaster, and that's all that matters now," he added.
Unesa's activity to greet Mamuju was carried out in collaboration with SMCC Unesa, and a team of Unesa volunteers in Mamuju who held the event in such a way that mamuju and Unesa residents could meet in online.
Chairman of unesa volunteer committee, Wiryo Nuryono, S.Pd., M.Pd said that the volunteer team is safe, healthy, and fine. "We have tested Swab antigen again, Thank God the results are all negative," he said. "Please pray, hopefully the activities are carried out properly and all can return safely in Surabaya," he hoped then ended the activity. (Yam/Humas Unesa)
