Coach David Agus Prianto is very grateful to be able to achieve the initial target, namely qualifying for the group phase. The victory in the third match against Bajul Ijo was special, because the coach fielded super sub or reserve players.

Unesa FC captain, Riko Heru Prasetyo admitted that he was not optimal in the third match against Bajul Ijo, one of the factors was the delay that was too long while waiting for the match.
“Earlier the match was paused for too long due to non-technical factors from the opposing team. "We had already done a maximum warm-up, but because of the long break we didn't warm up any more," he explained.
The Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK) Unesa, Dwi Cahyo Kartiko expressed his deep appreciation for the achievements of his team who managed to pass the group phase according to target.
"This is all thanks to Coach David's cool hands in developing the team, as well as maximizing sports science during the preparation and training period," he said.
He had predicted, by looking at the thorough preparations made his team, he believed from the start, on paper Unesa FC could qualify for the group phase.
"We do all this through a sports science approach when training. We have a fitness laboratory for athlete tests. Such as anthropometric tests, namely to measure body composition with an inbody device," he said.
"They also undergo Aerobic (VO2 Max) and Anaerobic endurance tests to measure peak power, average power and fatigue. This also includes measurements of fat and so on, and is trained by qualified trainers ," he added.[*]
