Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) plans to inaugurate an outpatient social rehabilitation project for drug abuse as well as a focus group discussion or FGD at the end of August 2024. This activity is planned to be attended by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Republic of Indonesia.
UNESA has made various preparations through the Directorate for Prevention and Handling of Strategic Issues (PPIS), one of which is holding a coordination meeting in Meeting Room 801, Rectorate, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, on Wednesday, July 24 2024.
PPIS Director, Mutimmatul Faidah said that the coordination meeting was to discuss FGD preparations which were directed at raising topics regarding the role of universities in efforts to prevent and handle narcotics.< /p>
“We also discussed making the momentum of the presence of BNN RI an opportunity to establish cooperation. "Apart from the FGD, there will also be a project inauguration," said the UNESA professor.
According to him, collaboration with BNN RI is an important part in strengthening synergy in preventing and tackling drug trafficking. "The fight against drug abuse cannot be done by the government alone, but requires the commitment and synergy of all parties, including universities. "With cooperation, our efforts will be even more massive," he added.
The Head of the UNESA Crisis Center Mitigation Sub-directorate, Wiryo Nuryono, added that the preparation for the event discussed also concerns the technical flow of FGDs and the inauguration of social rehabilitation projects, elections the internal and external vendors used, the number of invited guests and the venue layout.
"The three series of events will be held in a hybrid manner, aka also broadcast live via YouTube," he explained.
Apart from that, the Head of the Sub-Directorate for Domestic Cooperation at UNESA, Beni Setiawan, together with the protocol team also prepared a content plan for the MoU and cooperation, which definitely includes Tridharma, P4GN and social rehabilitation. To confirm the details of the event, a follow-up meeting will be held to ensure UNESA's readiness to welcome BNN RI in the near future. [*]
