As many as 40 elementary schools in Indonesia are entitled to be the best in the Grand Final of The Best Practice of Character Education organized by the Directorate of Elementary School Development Ministry of Education and Culture Jakarta 20 sd November 23 2013 at the Harris Hotel Bandung. The 40 elementary schools are the result of selection from 400 elementary schools submitted for the program.
There are three (3) Unesa lecturers who are judges in the determination of the top six. The three lecturers were Martadi Suyatno and Jun Suryanti. The three lecturers along with other lecturers who were appointed to be judges. The judging process is very intensive and lively. The principal presents about the strength of character education in her school. " I am very pleased with this judging model " said the head of Makassar Minasaupa Elementary School who was the finalist. " Its our pride for our school to be a finalist " said the head of SDN 60 Bengkulu City.
The activity was a continuation of the previous years activity which was also in the form of a competition. "This program is to motivate elementary schools to continue to promote character education" said Mukhlis Kasubdit Learning Dir PSD. Character education at the elementary level is indeed very patterned and systematic. " Various guidelines were made for the benefit of carrying out character education " Mukhlis added.
