Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-A number of heads of state and private universities held a meeting on Thursday, June 9, 2022 evening at the Layar Restaurant, Jl. KH Abdul Wahab Siamin, No. 216, Surabaya. The meeting was initiated by the Chancellor of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., with the aim of strengthening cross-university cooperation.
In addition, to improve the quality of the implementation of Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) in each campus. Also present were the Chancellor of the Dinamika University, Prof. Dr. Budi Jatmiko, M.Pd, Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Gresik Dr. Eko Budi Leksono, ST.,MT, Head of STIESIA Surabaya Dr. Nur Fadjrih Asyik, SE, M.Si, Ak, CA, and the Chancellor of Trunojoyo University Madura, Dr. Muh. Syarif, M.Si. In addition, the Vice Chancellors from the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya, Widya Mandala Catholic University, Widya Kartika University, and Narotama University were also present. On that occasion, the campus leadership shared about the experience of implementing MBKM and the potential of their respective campuses. The event was then continued with the signing of a collaboration between the Chancellor of UNESA and other university leaders.
“We have to get together often to discuss or share about the potential of campuses and the dynamics of MBKM implementation in each campus. What can we collaborate on and do in the future to create innovations to develop East Java," said Cak Hasan.
At UNESA, continued Cak Hasan, they are finalizing preparations for PTNBH. Study programs are encouraged to have international accreditation. Until now, there are dozens of internationally accredited study programs, both AQAS and ASIIN. Among them, there are also many other potentials and programs, including UNESA, which has the highest number of applicants in the SNMPTN and SBMPTN pathways. In addition, it also discusses the ongoing implementation of Village Past Learning Recognition (RPL).
Cak Hasan encourages all levels and divisions to fully understand that going to PTNBH is not only a matter of status, but must actually be a step of transformation towards an independent, creative and innovative campus.
“Our future direction is to become a World Class University. We are starting to improve campus rankings both nationally and internationally, research, collaboration and international publications continue to be improved," he said.
University Chancellor Dr. Soetomo Dr. Siti Marwiyah, SH, MH welcomed the sharing and conveyed her plan to make a special visit to UNESA next week. The aim is to discuss the preparation for the implementation of the RPL at Unitomo, MBKM activities, cooperation in accepting new students and regarding further study of S-3 for Unitomo lecturers at UNESA.
