Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The term of office for the leadership of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) for the 2018-2022 period will end soon. Therefore, the rector candidate selection and selection committee announced the selection of candidates from 23 March to 4 April 2022 and opened registration for rector candidates from 28 March 2022 to 14 April 2022.
The names entered then passed the verification and selection stage for administrative files on March 30-21 April. As a result, the selection committee determined the prospective UNESA rector for the 2022-2026 period in a determination meeting held in the 9th Floor Meeting Room, Rectorate Building, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya on Friday, April 22, 2022 afternoon.
Six Fighting Names
Based on the decision at the meeting. There are six names of candidates who will enter the race as UNESA rector candidates for the 2022-2026 period. These names are:
- Dr. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, M.Pd.,
- Dr. Drs. Djuli Djatiprambudi, M.Sn.,
- Dr. Maspiyah, M. Kes.,
- Dr. Mochamad Nursalim, M.Sc.,
- Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M. Kes., and
- Dr. Trisakti, M.Si.
"This candidate is a candidate who is ready to compete in order to realize a more advanced and successful UNESA in the next five years. They previously followed the registration stage. Then there are administrative selections and medical tests," explained Prof. Dr. Madlazim, M.Sc., Chairman of the Committee.
Declaration of Candidates
In the meeting. These names compactly declared themselves as potential candidates and were ready to compete for the more advanced and superior UNESA in front of the executive committee. "We will be candidates for Chancellor of the State University of Surabaya 2022-2026, ready to contest in realizing a cool, safe and peaceful rector candidate," they shouted in unison.
The steps taken by the rector candidates received appreciation from the executive committee and the senate. That is, the declaration is not only an expression of readiness to participate in the contestation, but also a commitment to realizing a cool, safe and peaceful election process.
One of the candidates, Dr. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, M.Pd., revealed his reasons for participating in the contest. Bachtiar revealed that this step was his effort to get the opportunity to lead the 'One Step Ahead' campus for the next five years.
"Congratulations to the six candidates. God willing, the candidates who will be applied have good intentions to advance UNESA," said the Chair of the UNESA Senate, Prof. Dr. Haris Supratno, M.Pd., after the declaration.
The candidates for rector will be socialized on April 25 to May 17, 2022. Then, they will appear to convey the vision, mission and excellent programs for the candidate for Chancellor of UNESA on May 18, 2022.
