Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (Satgas PPKS), Surabaya State University (UNESA) held a 'Task Force Narrative Talkshow and Expression Stage' at the 3rd Floor Auditorium, Building I8, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), UNESA Ketintang Campus, on Friday, 10 November 2023.
The activity with the theme "Inspiring through Creation, Gen Z Hero for Zero Sexual Violence" was attended by dozens of students from various faculties on campus Ketintang. Chief Executive, Ghufron Mu'ti, said that this activity aims to explore students' talents and interests, as well as introduce the PPKS Task Force.
"We hope that this event can explore students' potential, they can showcase their talents and interests. Task Force "PPKS also shares information regarding the handling and prevention of sexual violence in higher education, especially on our campus," he said.
Head of the Subdirectorate for Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence, Iman Pasu Marganda Hadiarto Purba, S.H., M.H., conveyed this activity is a routine activity organized by the UNESA PPKS Task Force as a form of expressing resistance for the UNESA campus to be free from sexual violence.
"In line with UNESA's vision of being free from sexual violence, this activity is a form of expression of students' rejection of sexual violence, which are displayed in the form of works," he said.
Actions to prevent sexual violence, he continued, need to be carried out on a massive scale and are a current need. Campuses should reflect and introspect as cases of sexual violence continue to increase.
On the expression stage, there were 17 teams who presented various kinds of performances in the form of dance, singing, poetry, and so on. This performance is a form of expression of student resistance to sexual violence through works and displays.
In addition to talk shows and expression stages, the PPKS Task Force also officially launched the UNESA PPKS Task Force website, namely satgasppks.unesa.ac.id. This website can be a means of complaints if students experience or encounter acts of sexual violence on campus.
Also present at this activity were the leadership of the Prevention and Handling of Campus Strategic Issues, the UNESA PPKS Task Force and related lecturers. []
