Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—The Indonesian Chancellors Forum (FRI) declared the Election Safe and Peaceful which was read directly by the Chair of the FRI 2023-2024 Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., at the Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Campus, Makassar, Saturday, February 3 2024.
This declaration, said the Chairman of FRI and the Chancellor of UNESA, who is familiarly called Cak Hasan, is part of an effort to call for safe and peaceful elections will make the democratic party a success which is only a matter of days away.
The call was signed by the leadership of higher education institutions, including Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Padjadjaran University (Unpad), Institute Bandung Technology (ITB).
Furthermore, also Surabaya State University (UNESA), Jakarta State University (UNJ), Wahid Hasyim University (Unwahas), Mataram University (Unram), and many more.

In its declaration, FRI rejects all forms of provocation that could divide the brotherhood. FRI invites all Indonesian citizens to exercise their right to vote and not be divided just because of differences in views and political choices.
"This call is a form of commitment and support from universities in maintaining unity and integrity within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia ( NKRI)," said Cak Hasan.
The points of the declaration of safe and peaceful elections of the Indonesian Chancellors Forum were signed by the chancellors of various universities as follows:
In order to maintain unity and integrity within the framework united state of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian Chancellors Forum calls for
1. Inviting all components of the nation to make the 2024 elections successful and safe and peaceful;
2. Reject all forms of provocation that could divide the brotherhood and actions that would harm the democratic party;
3. Together to prevent hoax news and hate speech that could disrupt the 2024 elections;
4. Citizens who have the right to vote must exercise their right to vote according to their conscience and not abstain and we must respect the differences in each person's choices;
5. The campus is not a place for division, on the contrary, the campus maintains conduciveness and helps provide education to the components of the nation in order to create honest, fair, safe and peaceful elections.[]
