Sarasi consists of students, preferably at least 3 semesters who take part in training and pass the selection. "Students who become literacy friends will get benefits such as: profits in the form of funds (coins) and recognition of SKS ( points). "This SKS recognition is carried out according to the existing guidebook," said the Head of the Literacy Center, Kisyani Laksono.
In this briefing, students receive a number of materials which include; Myths and Misconceptions of Literacy, Reading Aloud, Psychological Characteristics (Children, Elderly and ABK), Building Effective and Positive Communication in various conditions with Children, Elderly and ABK, and Building Effective and Positive Interactions with Children, Elderly and ABK.
Through Sarasinesa, students and lecturers who care about literacy, arts, sports and mental health are empowered to get involved in society.
This program also makes it easier for students who have difficulty finding independent internships. "With the presence of Sarasinesa, students not only help the community but are also able to develop themselves and apply the knowledge they have gained in college," said the UNESA professor.
Sarasi is a service as a solution to meet the needs of communities in various aspects, ranging from childcare, assisting the elderly, to additional lessons and skills development.
This program provides paid services that involve students with special skills who come directly to their homes or destination locations, helping with daily activities and providing intensive guidance.
Sarasi offers students the opportunity to practice their skills. The services provided by 'Sarasinesa' cover several main categories.
First, Temanmainesa, which is dedicated as a playmate for children, as well as sports skills training to improve children's motor skills.
Secondly, Temancerita, which offers assistance services for the elderly or patients at home or hospital, provides emotional and social support through small talk or interesting stories.
This activity helps seniors stay connected and feel valued in their social life.
"Meanwhile, the types of Sarasi programs include family literacy, sports literacy, subject literacy, language and cultural literacy, arts literacy, school literacy, literacy and mental health literacy," he said.
Both programs target the elderly and parents who need playmates for their children aged toddlers, PAUD, and regular kindergarten or ABK categories.[*]
