FT students get a lot of important provisions in PKKMB.
Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA—Higher education is currently at a critical crossroads in facing the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0. This was conveyed by I Kadek Dwi Nuryana, lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Surabaya State University (UNESA) in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) FT, on Tuesday, August 20 2024.
According to him, higher education required to transform in line with rapid technological developments. Digitalization of learning, curriculum changes, and developing lecturer competencies are the main challenges that must be faced to ensure that graduates are able to compete at the global level.
Kadek emphasized that the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era opens up great opportunities for higher education, such as personalization of learning, global collaboration, and innovation in the curriculum, as well as increasing access to education through technology. However, he also emphasized that all these changes will only be successful if students take an active role in the process.
"Students are the main driving force in facing this era. They must develop 21st century skills which include critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and digital literacy. These skills are not only important in the academic environment, but also in an increasingly competitive and dynamic world of work," he explained.

In higher education, he underlined that the profile of Pancasila students , especially students, must reflect Pancasila values. As future leaders, students must have good managerial and leadership skills.
The Surabaya-born lecturer also reminded that students must have an important role as agents of change in fostering national and state awareness. As the next generation, students must be active in maintaining and advancing national values and making a real contribution to nation building.
