Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA–To commemorate National Music Day which falls on March 9 2024, the Music Study Program Student Association (HMP), Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Surabaya State University (UNESA) is holding a musical performance entitled Muse In Joglo on March 19 2024 at Joglo FBS, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya.
Didik Nurhadi, M.Pd., M.A., Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Learning, Research and Community Service, Student Affairs and FBS Alumni said the activities This is a place for students to express their daily practice and learning.
“Music is a universal cultural expression. "This activity is a place for students to express their enthusiasm in the field of music and a place for students to show themselves," he said.
Agus Suwahyono, S.Sn., M.Pd., Coordinator of the Undergraduate Music Arts Study Program said that the music performance This was the first time it was being held and was attended by 10 Student Activity Units (UKM) of the Music Arts study program.
"There are 10 UKM performing today, including UKM Keroncong, Percussion, Band & Dangdut, Guitar Ensemble, Keysmate, Unesa String Chamber, Brass & Woodwind, Unesa Symphony Orchestra, Gita Pramawisesa, and Music Production ," he explained.
Not only students, he added, this musical performance also featured performances from lecturers from the Music Arts study program. There seemed to be a lot of spectators, this activity was attended by students and lecturers from FBS UNESA.

Hyasaya Kana as Chief Executive said that this activity is part of the HMP work program which aims to showcase the talent and enthusiasm of students in the field of music.
"We were inspired to create this event as a form of our appreciation for National Music Month, as well as as a stage "The first time for 10 UKMs that were only formed a few months ago," he said.
Apart from being a means of expression and celebration, this event also has a social mission by holding funds for orphans. "We hope that through the donations collected, we can make a positive contribution to society," he added.
Interestingly, 'Muse in Joglo' not only involves active students, but invites alumni to participate. This aims to add to the excitement of the event and strengthen the relationship between students and alumni.
The student who also serves as head of the Music Arts HMP hopes that this activity can be a promotional event for the Bachelor of Music Arts and Music UKM study programs at UNESA, especially after the pandemic period which limited student activities.[]
