Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—With the theme 'The Rhythm of Batik-pop', the Korean cultural festival, HallyuFest Vol.2 greeted hundreds of Korean culture fans at Balai Pemuda, Surabaya on Sunday, 17 December 2023.
This activity is an assignment for the MICE (Meeting, Invention, Convention and Exhibition) course by Communication Science students, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH) UNESA. Around 400 visitors filled the event location and watched the 10 finalists from the Singing Competition and Dance Cover.
One of the visitors, Stanley Hao, who is a content creator with more than seven million followers on Tiktok, also enlivened the event.< /p>
"I was worried because the timing collided with a concert inviting artists from the capital, but it turned out that the enthusiasm of the visitors was still high and the event went lively," said Aginka Ilmas, project manager of HallyuFest.
HallyuFest is a continuation of HallyuFest which was held in 2021. This year, there are several activities including dance competition, singing competition, culinary bazaar, random play dance, and noraebang party enlivened by DJ Bernard and Dean.
Lecturer in charge subject, Putri Aisyiyah Rachma Dewi S.Sos., M.Med.Kom., revealed that this event was the result of students' hard work for less than 3 months.
The students prepared the event from the start concept creation to implementation. He hopes that this event will be continued by their younger classmates.
"This event is the final assignment of the MICE course, so it will be held entirely by Communication Science students," he said.
He hopes This event will not only stop this year, but will continue with the next generation of students.
As for the results of the competition, the Heaven Magic team came out as 1st place in the Dance Cover competition, followed by Team Versace in 2nd place, and Clover in 3rd place.
Meanwhile in Singing The competition was won by Talitha Dimittwo, then 2nd place was won by Via Assalma, and 3rd place was Tasya Cariza. The activity continued with the best outfit at the fashion show being Noora Marchelyta. [Unesa Public Relations]
