Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the "backbone" of the Indonesian economy. Therefore, they must be considered and prioritized. The collaboration of all parties is the key to advancing MSMEs. This was emphasized by Rosa Prafitri Juniarti, S.E., M.S.M, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNESA in the Kompas Talk forum on 'Strengthening the Surabaya City Economy, Strengthening MSMEs' on Tuesday (15/6/2021).
The event, which was held online, was a collaboration between Kompas daily and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III in the context of the 728th anniversary of the City of Surabaya. In addition to UNESA academics, Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi, S.T., M.T and HR Director of PT Pelindo III Edi Priyanto, as well as Susilaningsih, owner of MSME chili sauce and snacks, also attended as speakers. The forum was hosted by Agnes Swetta Pandia, Deputy Editor of Nusantara Kompas.
According to Rosa, collaboration to build MSMEs can be done in many ways and strategies. MSME actors are given the opportunity to manage their business well, maintain good relations with consumers, and carry out business development plans in the future.
It doesn't stop there, he continued, the government must certainly be present, not only as a regular MSME recorder, but also to ensure that MSME conditions in the field continue to grow and develop well and anticipate things that can have an impact on MSME growth through regulations that benefit the perpetrators. the effort.
Rosa continued that universities also have an important role there. Can play a role through MSME development research, provide training and assistance, and help create and develop MSMEs in the field through various programs. Especially with the MBKM program in each university which can further strengthen the role of the campus in the development and progress of MSMEs in the community.
So what is the job of Industry? Of course it can be done by supporting assistance and capital as well as other important roles to lift the MSME sector. "By carrying out the main tasks and functions of each party in such a collaboration scheme, plus a good digital infrastructure, of course we are optimistic that MSMEs can grow, develop and progress," he said.
Meanwhile, Eri Cahyadi said that the Surabaya City Government had been giving the best for the progress of MSMEs. Starting from guiding, facilitating regulatory affairs and assisting in branding and product marketing. The program, he continued, is run from the service level to the sub-district level and reaches all of Surabaya's MSMEs which reach around 45 thousand in number.
Even to make it easier for MSMEs, the Surabaya City Government has launched an e-local market application which will start some time soon. With this application, MSMEs are brought together with their market. "The market here for the time being is civil servants throughout the city of Surabaya, which number around 15 thousand people," said Eri.
Then Edi Priyanto said that Pelindo III supports the progress of MSMEs. In the city of Surabaya, he continued, Pelindo III has around 150 fostered MSMEs. "During the pandemic, we also have a stimulus for MSMEs," said Edi.
On that occasion, Susilaningsih, the owner of MSMEs with chili sauce and snacks, DedeSatoe, said that the progress of MSMEs must start from MSMEs themselves. Not just building a business, but must be based on intention, perseverance and enthusiasm. In addition, of course, support from all parties, starting from the government, universities, industry, and other parties. (Unesa Public Relations)
