Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The Navy's 76th Anniversary falls on September 10, 2021. The College of Naval Technology (STTAL) commemorates it by organizing the Navy's Covid-19 Vaccine Incursion at UNESA Lidah Wetan Campus on Thursday (09/09/2021). The activity carries the theme "With the Spirit of Jalesveva Jayamahe, the Navy is Ready to Create a Resilient Indonesia, Indonesia Grows".
On that occasion, STTAL officials and their staff and UNESA leaders were present who directly inspected the location of the first dose of Sinovac vaccination for ages 12 years and over. Vaccine quota is provided for 1,100 doses. The target for vaccination is the entire UNESA family, both university students and UNESA Laboratory High School students. Also for the general public. To anticipate residents who come directly to the location without going through previous registration, the organizers provide a special quota.
Synergy to Realize Herd Immunity
The vaccination is a form of synergy between STTAL and UNESA in welcoming the implementation of face-to-face learning in educational institutions. Commander of the College of Naval Technology (STTAL), First Admiral of the TNI Dr. Ir. Avando Bastari, M. Phil., said that the vaccine attack was to support the government's policy in accelerating the vaccine delivery program to the entire population of Indonesia.
"With the acceleration of vaccination by 70 percent, it is hoped that communal immunity or herd immunity will occur as the key to ending the pandemic in the country," he said at the location. Furthermore, the STTAL Commander explained that the Navy's vaccination attack at Unesa was also an implementation of the Instruction of the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral TNI Yudo Margono, S.E., M.M., to assist the government in accelerating the handling of Covid-19.
This is a form of special attention from the Chief of Naval Staff by directly appointing the Naval Technology College (STTAL) to synergize with partner universities, UNESA in the success of the vaccine attack program.
Vaccine Welcomes PTM at UNESA
UNESA Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd appreciated the implementation of the mass vaccination. This step, he continued, is an important and strategic step in limiting the spread of Covid-19 in the community. "With the formation of communal immunity, of course the hope is that this nation will recover from the pandemic and activities in society and the state can return to normal," he said.
The vaccination, he continued, greatly helped UNESA in the preparation of face-to-face learning which is planned to be implemented in the near future. So far, UNESA has finalized everything, from the main and supporting facilities for the process to the scheme. For eligibility, SMCC UNESA has been checking it since September 6, 2021.
PTM for Greater Surabaya Students and Class of 2020-2021
For this week PTM preparations continue to be finalized and complete the lack of infrastructure to conform to SOPs. He is well aware that students have longed for face-to-face lectures, because based on a survey conducted by Unesa, students want face-to-face lectures immediately. As a start, while looking at the dynamics of the field and the condition of the Covid status in Surabaya, UNESA will carry out PTM, especially for students of Greater Surabaya, namely the City of Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Gresik.
Vaccines and Parental Permission PTM Requirements at UNESA
The PTM requirement is that students must have received a vaccine injection, obey the health procedures, and get permission from their parents. He admits, all generations want to immediately go to campus. However, the campus provides opportunities for students who have never experienced offline lectures, namely the 2020 and 2021 classes.
“Currently, each study program is arranging schedules and distributions by prioritizing a quota of 25 percent of room capacity. PTM Unesa is targeted to be held on September 20, 2021," he said. The Navy Vaccination attack was supported by the Kodiklatal Nakes Team, led by Kasatkes Kodiklatal Marine Lt. Col. (K) dr. Iwan Sutanto, Sp., OT., M.Tr. Hanla., in collaboration with the UNESA Polyclinic Health Team and STTAL Bakes. (Hasna/zam)
