Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-In order to improve the quality of online learning and support higher education rankings, the State University of Surabaya held a workshop 'Optimizing Learning through Vinesa' for lecturers on 21-22 July 2021. The virtual activity was attended by around 1,000 lecturers from seven Faculties and the Unesa Postgraduate Program.
Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd., Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs said that as a learning management system (LMS), Vinesa is used to facilitate Unesa lecturers and students in conducting distance lectures. However, in its implementation, optimization efforts are still needed so that online lectures at UNESA run optimally.
He also added that this workshop also aims to improve the ability of UNESA lecturers to create online learning modules. According to him, this learning module can be uploaded to SPADA so that it can be accessed by students outside UNESA. "Through online learning that is integrated with SPADA, it can provide higher education equality in terms of developing teaching materials and as a form of implementing independent learning," he said.
On that occasion, as the first speaker, Dr. Nining Widyah Kusnanik, S.Pd., M. Appl. Sc., conveyed about 'University Ranking through Vinesa'. According to him, Unesa's ranking in using Vinesa is fairly low, especially during this holiday. Many lecturers and students prefer to use other platforms for the learning process, rather than using Vinesa. "With this optimization program, it is hoped that lecturers can more optimally manage online learning through Vinesa," he said.
Furthermore, the presentation of material on the Indonesian Online Learning System (SPADA) which was delivered by Dr. Alim Sumarno, M.Pd. and Setya Cendra Wibawa, M. Kom. According to Alim Sumarno, SPADA Indonesia is an implementation of distance learning that aims to increase equitable access to quality learning.
Meanwhile, Muji Sri Prastiwi, M.Pd and Rahardian Bisma, M.Kom invited lecturers to massively increase activities at Vinesa, including by uploading learning modules in Vinesa and SPADA Indonesia. "With the integration between Unesa's LMS, namely Vinesa and SPADA, it is hoped that the lecturers will increase their activities at Vinesa and upload their learning modules. Because with this system, it provides opportunities for students to take quality courses from other universities," explained Bisma.
The last material given at the session was related to 'Back up Restoration to SPADA Indonesia' which was presented by Khusnul Khotimah, S.Pd., M.Pd. He said that this data backup serves to store or copy data so that it can be reused if data is lost or an error occurs on the website. "In addition, it also makes it easier to integrate with SPADA," he added. (meds/zam)
