Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–Carrying the theme "Digital Disruption as an Opportunity for Optimizing the Creative Economy", the Student Association of Economics Education Department (HIMAJPE) UNESA held a National Entrepreneurship Webinar on December 10, 2021. The event was opened by Dr. Anang Kistyanto, S.Sos., M.Si, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNESA. In his remarks, he invited all participants present to be more aware and involved in the creative economy sector, especially through social media. The creative sector is one of the current trends. Young people need to be quick to sniff out and take advantage of current and future opportunities.
Deputy Governor of East Java, Dr. H. Emil Elestianto Dardak, B.Bus., M.Sc, on that occasion discussed "Digital Transformation Strategy as an Opportunity in Supporting MSMEs in East Java". He explained that East Java's economic growth and structure in 2021 apparently contributed to the national GDP. In the manufacturing sector, it contributes 22.98% of income to East Java's GRDP. The trade sector contributed 20.46%. Then, the agricultural sector contributed 12.44% and in the other 14 sectors it had contributed 44.12%.
Cooperatives and MSMEs in East Java contributed 57.25% to GRDP JATIM. This means that East Java's economic development is quite good, supported by the important role of stakeholders in various sectors. East Java, he continued, will continue to strive to advance various sectors. One of them is by accelerating the ecosystem in supporting the digitization of UKMK. Starting from the licensing process, business rights and much more. “East Java has developed OSS/integration with DPMPTSP Prov. JATIM, EJSC in five Barkowil, Jatimbejo, training platform for cooperatives and SMEs Si Jawara, Millenial Job Center, and K-UKM clinic JATIM," he explained.
The Deputy Governor is optimistic that the East Java creative economy sector will continue to soar with the involvement of creative and innovative young people. According to him, students and young people currently have a million potentials and opportunities that can actually be utilized to the fullest. Member of Commission C DPRD East Java, Pranaya Yudha Mahardika, SP., MIB., conveyed about 'Optimizing the Quality of MSMEs as Supporting the Indonesian Economy in the Era of Society 5.0'. According to him, the essence of community empowerment is helping people to help themselves. The mindset of helping others must be fostered through sociopreneurs. Being good is basically easy, good consistency is the challenge. Therefore, there are several obstacles in doing sociopreneurs including; not confident, give up easily, do not realize that there are competitors, HR that is not suitable and tends to be detrimental, and does not update services or skills.
There are several tips to become a sociopreneur. First, understanding the issues to be raised, Second, conducting research and taking opportunities. Third, adjust the ability or passion. Fourth, take advantage of digital platforms. Fifth, choose the right human resources.
Becoming a sociopreneur will provide benefits to the perpetrators, such as getting assistance through corporate social responsibility, receiving Grant Project funds, being invited to various events because of their work, being able to work together with other parties as consultants or community development officers, as well as being a tender for government programs.
