Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held a hybrid ceremony to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2022 on Friday, May 13, 2022 morning. The leadership took part in the ceremony offline in the Rector's Lobby, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya. While the rest of the community followed online via Zoom.
As the builder of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., said that during the last two years there were many challenges that had to be faced. Both pandemic challenges that require restrictions and distance as well as internal challenges that require adaptation, staying tough, innovative and achieving. "We are not only able to get through, but stand at the forefront to lead the recovery and revival of various conditions," he said.
Freedom to learn in this third year, he continued, has sailed islands throughout Indonesia. This curriculum started as an effort to help teachers and students during the pandemic. Proven to reduce the impact of loss of learning. The independent curriculum has been implemented by more than 140 thousand education units throughout Indonesia.

This shows that hundreds of Indonesian children have learned in a way that is much more fun and can liberate Indonesian children, who no longer need to worry about access to proper and quality education. Nor is there too much pressure with exams because the current national assessment does not aim to punish teachers or students. However, as a reflection material for teachers to continue to be encouraged to learn, so that school principals are motivated to improve the quality of their schools to be more inclusive and free from the threat of the three major sins of education.
"The same spirit has also been heard from artists and cultural actors who are now starting to rise again and start working more freely," said Cak Hasan. It was all thanks to the persistence of all parties to give birth to a breakthrough in the cultural endowment fund. As a result, there are now no more limits on money and support for expression to continue to drive cultural progress.
All of the positive changes that were brought together were not only felt by parents, teachers and students in Indonesia but have reached other countries through the G-20 presidency of Indonesia. This year proves that Indonesia is no longer just a follower, but can lead the world recovery movement.
The independent movers for learning throughout Indonesia are getting closer together, the pace is also accelerating, but this has not yet reached the finish line. Then there is no reason to stop moving even for a moment. There are still strong winds ahead and much bigger waves and much higher obstacles. "We will continue to take command, lead the recovery together and move for independent learning for quality education and global competitiveness towards a superior and advanced Indonesia," he concluded.
