Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya–The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Sports Science (FIO) UNESA held a national entrepreneurship webinar with the theme "Building a Millennial Spirit and with High Integrity for Entrepreneurship for the Realization of Post-Covid-19 Economic Recovery" on Sunday (27/06/2021).
The resource persons presented on the occasion were Arderio Hukom, S.H., M.Kn. as CEO of betterdata.id and Kriswardana Group and Dwi Bagus Rendi A P, S.Pd., M.Pd as Lecturer of Science Education Study Program at Trunojoyo University Madura as well as CEO of Madura Coffee. In addition, there is also Septrianto Maulana general chairman of GEKRAFS East Java as well as President Director of Intan Borneo Wisesa Group and Dr. Deddi Nordiawan, SE, Ak, MM, FEB Lecturer at the University of Indonesia and Founder of “Medina Consulting” Chief Executive Officer.
Abdul Hafidz, S.Pd., M.Pd Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni FIO said that the entrepreneurship webinar became FIO's momentum to rise to develop wider potential not only as athletes, educators and coaches, but also have the ability to build and develop businesses in sports field.
Arderio Hukom in his presentation said that doing business can be done in various fields. One of them is the field of sports that can be started from the potential and needs that exist in the field. He continued, today's sport is not only a necessity but also a trend. "Therefore, FIO students have business opportunities in that direction," he said.
He gives an illustration that several businesses in the field of sports can be involved. The first can be in the form of opening a special class for sports such as football, badminton, basketball, and other sports. Second, it can also be in the form of developing sports applications. He gave an example such as the Ayo Indonesia application for football. "Applications for badminton, basketball, and others can be developed, it's just a matter of collaboration with other friends who can IT or create applications," he explained.
The third can be in the form of making sporting events. Since this is a pandemic, he added, esport events can be an option. Furthermore, fourth, it could also be in the form of a sports content business. "If we use social media, we usually spend the package, it's better if we use the technology at hand (smartphones) to generate income," he said. "There are many opportunities that fellow students can take advantage of, just choose which one is suitable, then find a partner and then walk, don't give up," he concluded.
Meanwhile, Seprianto Maulana said that to start a business you can use many strategies, apart from looking for partners, you can also take advantage of existing government programs, one of which is provided by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. He continued that the important capital that a successful entrepreneur must have is the courage to start from scratch, determine and focus on goals, be oriented to market desires and trends, be innovative in presenting interesting or unique products or services, expand networks, and of course be able to utilize technology.
Then Dwi Bagus Rendi explained that there are several things that must be done in starting a business. Decide what to sell, it can be in the form of goods or services. Determine market segmentation. Then look for business partners who can be invited to collaborate. Planning targets and goals in the business and its evaluation system. The most important thing is to have the courage to start and make all decisions as lessons to be better in the future.
“From business experience and business research, we also need to understand business governance or management. Starting from marketing management, production management, distribution management, and financial management," he said.
Meanwhile, Deddi Nordiawan said that in doing business there are indeed many things that must be considered and that is indeed necessary in finalizing everything so that it is right on target and according to expectations. However, do not let the considerations actually become an obstacle.
He said that the current business challenges are many, but the opportunities in them are no less. Therefore, it takes the ability to read opportunities, what are the needs and what are the problems in the field, then be able to answer these opportunities in an innovative and solutive manner and the most important thing is the ability to act or realize a business plan to answer those needs.
