Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Students of the 22nd class of Sports Science study program, Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK) Surabaya State University held a Healthy Walk with the title 'Abiwara Samba' on Sunday, December 10 2023.
This activity, which was attended by more than hundreds of student and public participants with the theme "Knitting Healthy Traditions Together", is the closing of the core activity, namely the Traditional Sports Festival which will be held on Saturday, December 9 2023.
Jevian Pujilianto, Chief organizer Abiwara Samba said that the background to organizing this activity was concern about the waning of youth's interest and love for traditional games. Apart from that, traditional games are a national identity that needs to continue to be preserved.
"Apart from caring about traditional games, this activity is also carried out as a form of final assignment of the course on creative and traditional sports games," explained Jevian.< /p>
This event begins with group exercise, then continues along the designated healthy walking route. The route taken on the healthy walk this time is around Unesa Tongue Wetan, starting from the FIKK volleyball field, passing the horse field, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Faculty of Education, then turning at the Faculty of Medicine, and returning to the FIKK volleyball field.

Jevian added that a lot of preparation had to be done in a relatively short time to make this series of activities a success. Moreover, this activity was carried out in the middle of the final semester exam preparation week.
"The preparation is very special, only one month. Preparation from the committee, events, equipment, coordination with related parties. We have completed all the components even though we haven't yet perfect," he added.
Apart from the healthy walk, there was also a drawing session for various attractive prizes such as refrigerators, washing machines, mountain bikes, fans and furniture. There is also entertainment in the form of electone which is a refreshment after taking a leisurely walk covering a distance of 3 kilometers.
Jevian hopes that this series of activities will not only be a forum for physical health but also to preserve traditional games with various interesting activities that can be participated in by various levels of society.
"We hope that this activity can continue to be implemented, run smoothly and be useful. We will correct existing deficiencies and maximize potential," concluded Jevian. []
