Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA— Undergraduate Indonesian Literature students class of 2021, Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Surabaya State University (UNESA) held "VI Indonesian Literature Film Festival" at Siola Mall Public Services, Surabaya on December 16 2023.
Activities presents four short films adapted from the short story Kukila by Aan Mansyur as a final assignment for the Ecranization course taught by Dr. Ririe Rengganis, S.S., M.Hum.

The first film, entitled "Mini", presented by the Manunggal Production group, tells the story of the illicit relationship between Erwin, a rich property boss, and a woman named Mini, his household assistant.
One day the spices of love began to develop between the two. From what started as just taking care of the house, serving coffee and seafood fried rice then it turned into a disaster.
Erwin started having sex with Mini, the two of them committed this haram act many times in the bedroom, in the bathroom, even in even the kitchen. Until one day Mini complained because her stomach hurt and felt nauseous.
Of course this made Erwin start to get scared because his beautiful maid could be pregnant. As a boss, Erwin tried various ways to get rid of evidence even though many media started reporting rumors of his scandal.
This was made worse by the gossip that spread among his office employees. For Erwin, it is not appropriate for a housemaid to be pregnant with his child.
On the other hand, the promise of marrying Erwin continues to haunt Mini's mind. However, Erwin, who had dark eyes, immediately killed Mini with a poisoned drink and wrapped the poor woman's corpse in a trash bag.
This cruel act was not done alone, his private driver named Sikki was forced to obey his request to throw Mini's body into the river and swear so as not to spread this incident. With a wad of money, Sikki was also asked to immediately go look for a new life and no longer return to work for Erwin.
Sikki, who had harbored his love for Mini for a long time, could only sigh in regret. However, instead of carrying out his boss's orders, Sikki instead saved Mini and took her to his boarding house.
After several hours of leaving the boarding house for other purposes, Sikki, who returned to the boarding house, was surprised by Mini's disappearance from before him, and surprisingly Mini was on Erwin's bedroom mattress in the morning when the property boss woke up from his sleep.
Then the second film was entitled "Suddenly I'm Florentino Ariza" which was adapted by the Kaledra Productions group. Tells the story of a handsome student named Jeki who is visited every day by the beautiful Doctor Kukila, who always gives him food when he visits Jeki's boarding house.
Because he visits the boarding house too often, the seeds of love arise between the two of them which slowly Gradually dragging them into an illicit relationship. Kukila's husband smelled the smell of infidelity, he caught his wife making out with Jeki in the boarding house.
The argument between the three of them was intense, the fist fight between Jeki and Kukila's husband happened very quickly. It all ended when Jeki woke up from sleep and realized that everything was just a dream and deja vu.
Then the third film was entitled "The Day After His Wife Was Buried" which was presented by the Sandyakala group.
Telling Hana, corporate slave who has a barren husband but his family runs happily. But one day his wife secretly had an affair with her office friend. The affair went so smoothly that Hana's husband didn't realize it.
On a sunny Monday morning, Hana and her husband had a picnic in the park, the initially romantic dialogue suddenly turned into mutual anger. Hana returned first because she was furious with her husband's suddenly temperamental attitude.
Unfortunately, Hana actually had an accident that caused her to die. The husband, who found out about this, was immediately shocked and regretful, even every time he looked at the objects left by his wife.
At the end of the story, by chance Hana's husband and Hana's co-worker met to pay a pilgrimage at Hana's funeral. The two of them then quarreled and hit each other after the identity of the affair was revealed.
Then finally there was the Siwaratri Productions group with a short film entitled "Five Questions About Meatballs".
Tells the story of a man named Basco Maruleng, who loves a girl from his school named Ratih. One day he saw Ratih eating meatballs, because according to the information Uleng got, she really liked meatballs. That's when Uleng got brave and approached Ratih to ask her to get to know him.
However, suddenly a man appeared with a scary appearance, tattoos with scary images, which scared Uleng, and it turned out to be Ratih's father. Day after day, Uleng invited Ratih to eat meatballs, but every time she ate meatballs, Ratih was always picked up first by either her father or her father's subordinates. Because of this, Bambang, Ratih's father, immediately looked for all the information about Uleng.
Until it was finally discovered that Uleng's family had opposed the orders given by Bambang's henchmen, and that was where Uleng's life problems arose. His mother was detained, his father was knocked unconscious, and he was arrested to be used as his next henchman.
One year he did training at the defense center, and finally he officially carried out his duties with the help of Ucil or the pseudonym Petromax 30. Target The first thing you have to face is a teacher. The teacher apparently only followed the principal's orders regarding the lesson module, but unfortunately he was still caught, not the principal.
Every day Ucil catches and stun the targets he has been chasing, then takes him to the headquarters which is only for execution and no one knows about it. Uleng also sharpens the knife and gun that will be used every day. He also opened a meatball shop, to disguise himself as intelligence.
Until one day, he heard the news that his mother had been murdered, he was angry, because of his anger, Ucil and Uleng made a plan to destroy Bambang. Because Bambang didn't want more people to be killed. Uleng also made an agreement with Ratih, because he met again when Uleng was selling meatballs, and Ratih and her family often ate there.
Ratih agreed, causing her father, Bambang, to die, and because many people hated him. Bambang, Uleng take Ratih away. What about Ucil? He remained in that place and took care of the chaos, until he became Bambang's replacement. []
