Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—The Vocational Faculty of Surabaya State University (UNESA) has carried out service activities for the international community at the Badminton Club, RBC, Kota Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia, in particular.
This PKM activity was led by Abdul Hafidz from the UNESA Vocational Sports Coaching D-4 Study Program and involved a number of Moch lecturers. Purnomo, Donny Ardy Kusuma, and Warju.
This international PKM is in line with the UNESA Chancellor's program which is currently intensifying its internationalization program. In supporting this program, the Vocational Faculty collaborates and shares international partners.
One thing that is done is to create an application that can evaluate coaching methods and analyze the performance of badminton clubs. They provided training on how to apply the application at the RBC Badminton Club, Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia.
The UNESA Vocational Faculty was represented by Deputy Dean 2 Abdul Hafidz, and the RBC Badminton Club which was led directly by the Club Owner Mr. Romy Arnold agreed on the cooperation which was realized in the form of signing the MOU and PKS.
Abdul Hafidz said that the RBC Badminton Club has athletes from beginner to adult level. They want to stimulate achievement among children, and are even planning the construction of better Badminton training facilities in the future.
Malaysia has a Badminton development program that covers various age groups, from beginners to adults. In developing these programs, they really need input from the UNESA expert team regarding how this program can be developed better and how to monitor individual performance more effectively.
The chairman and service team delivered a number of materials. Abdul Hafidz conveyed the aims and objectives of PKM activities and touched on coaching issues in general. Mochamad Purnomo discussed the athlete performance monitoring system. He also highlighted the importance of building an effective sports performance framework, with reference to the RBC Malaysia Club.
Then, Donny Ardy Kusuma discussed sports performance analysis. He also introduced various variables that teams need to understand and prepare for to build a Badminton sports performance framework, including physical, technical, nutritional, social, health and psychological aspects.
Apart from that, he presented an athlete performance analysis software specially developed by the UNESA team for the RBC Malaysia Badminton team. The RBC Badminton Malaysia Club really welcomed this initiative and stated that this software was really needed in the development of Badminton in their club.
Apart from carrying out service programs, the PKM team also monitored VKO Study Program students Class of 2022 (Mochamad Ryan Bintang) who underwent an internship program for 2 months by becoming a trainer at the RBC club.[*]
