Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–Faculty of Psychology (FPsi) accepts 529 new students (new students) this year 2024. The new students took part in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) entitled "Psycho Journey 2024" starting Tuesday, August 20 2024.
With the theme "Forming Creative, Innovative, Adaptive and Collaborative Characters to Realize Psychological-Wellbeing for New Students" this activity was held for four days until 23 August 2024 at the Sports Psychology Integrated Building, UNESA Campus 2 Lidah Wetan.
The PKKMB activity was filled with various activities. Ahmad Muhammad Abduh, Chief Executive of Psychojourney 2024, said that the Psychological-Wellbeing theme is intended so that students can achieve psychological well-being by having four characters, namely creative, innovative, adaptive and collaborative.
One of the PKKMB series is the Welcome Trisula Muda activity, on August 20 2024, which presents a psychology influencer, namely Danang Setyo Budi Baskoro. He shared three main things that influence character, namely, motivation, ability, and environment.
The clinical psychologist who works at the Menur Mental Hospital in Surabaya said that motivation is very important for character formation because it is a strong basis or foundation for a person to act. For this reason, new students must establish what motivation they will aim for when studying at the UNESA Faculty of Psychology.
"The second is ability, this ability is also related to the interests, talents and desire to learn. "If you don't feel suited to a field, or even hate it, then it will certainly be difficult to study that field," he said.
Finally, the environment, according to him, can influence how you think and act, so that can determine someone's character. "You must have all three to optimize character development, if one of them is not fulfilled then the results will be zero," said the founder of Brilian Psychology.

New Faculty Students Psychology poses together in front of the faculty building, which was inaugurated some time ago.
Dean of Faculty Psychologist, Diana Rahmasari, who was present to open this activity, advised that during the four years of study, students should be able to give their best to their alma mater, be able to grow and process into becoming outstanding students and be able to explore their abilities.
“Four years of study is your time for self-development, so don't feel like you are superior to others. "However, continue to feel like you want to continue learning, and make psychology a place for mutual growth," he said.
Yohana Wuri Satwika, FPsi lecturer said that PKKMB 2024 is the first after psychology was transformed into its own faculty. He hopes that students will be able to take advantage of the opportunities in PKKMB to speed up adaptation and later be ready to act and give their best in studying.
PKKMB FPsi Euphoria provides a memorable experience for new students. Syafrinda Anugrah Hantiyaes Santoso Putri, a new student, said that PPKMB not only provides information about the lecture system at FPsi, but also prepares her mentally and motivates her.
“I am increasingly motivated to study and develop my abilities with the UNESA Faculty of Psychology. "I hope that my future studies will be smooth and easy," said the student who is battling cancer.
“My hope for myself is that I become a much better person than I am now and can help other people. And for friends who are on prospects out there or who are having problems. I know your problem is serious. "Therefore, don't give up hope, never blame yourself, because everything has a way," he said again.[]
