Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Students Surabaya State University (Unesa) who take final semester exams or UAS offline will get free breakfast at their respective faculties on Thursday, 02 January 2025 . According to the plan, around 2,000 portions of free breakfast will be provided every day for the next week or until January 10.
Deputy Chancellor II for Law, Management, Finance, Resources and Business, Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri said that the free nutritious breakfast program which started today was part of a trial period to support the government's Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
"We are indeed planning for the trial on UAS. This is the right moment, because the UAS is like the culmination of one semester of lectures, so you need intake so you can concentrate. "The hope is that when they get good intake, the results will be maximum," he said.
Professor and curriculum development expert Unesa< /a> added that nutritious breakfast packages were only prepared in the morning session or for students taking the first exam session offline on campus.

Unesa Deputy Chancellor for Division II, Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, directly monitored production, distribution, and processes evaluation of the implementation of the nutritious breakfast program in each faculty.
The breakfast package is prepared at each faculty or study program at Unesa Campus 1 Ketintang and Campus 2 Lidah Wetan. Meanwhile, the provision of nutritious breakfast at Unesa Campus 5 Magetan starts 6-9 January 2025.
Every day, the breakfast package comes with a different menu, of course with a balanced nutritional dose. Like today, for example, the breakfast menu consists of white rice, serundeng chicken, orek tempe, cucumber and basil vegetables, and of course there is onion chili sauce and boxed milk. The next day, namely white rice, curry spiced chicken, stir-fried green beans and carrots, fried tempeh, chili sauce and boxed milk
In order to make the nutritious breakfast program a success, Unesa formed three teams, namely the production, distribution and monitoring-evaluation teams. Production was carried out by Boganesa from the Faculty of Engineering (FT), and Kanvanesa from Vocational Faculty (FV).
Meanwhile, the distribution is carried out by a team appointed by each faculty. Then monitoring and evaluation was carried out by a team from the Crisis Center Mitigation Subdirectorate (SMCC) Unesa.
"From "The results of the evaluation can later be used as input for the government to implement the MBG program in universities. It could be related to the menu, program pattern, and so on depending on the results," he said take the UAS one by one pick up a breakfast package in the lobby of the respective faculty or study program." src="/images/foto-02-01-2025-08-35-24-0583.png" style="height:533px; width:800px" />
Regarding the continuation of this nutritious breakfast program in the future, Unesa will see the progress and results of evaluation and monitoring during this trial period first. "We will implement this until the specified date, "In future, we will first see what the results of the evaluation and response are," he said.
This program was well received by students, one of whom was Kharisma Dwi Cahyani, a student at the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS). According to him, this program was very helpful for students who haven't had breakfast from house or boarding house, saving more on expenses too.
Especially in the middle of the UAS period, this program is felt to have a positive impact on them, because they don't need to think about breakfast in the midst of busy exams.
"The food is delicious, but for me maybe the portion is not big enough, and thank God there is extra milk too. "If, for example, this continues to be realized in the future, it will really help students," said the English Language Education Undergraduate Study Program student.[*]
