Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—A number of Surabaya State University (UNESA) students underwent an exchange program at Zhengzhou Information Engineering Vocational College on 11-24 June 2024. They were accompanied by lecturer Wulan Patria Saroinsong, S.Psi., M.Pd., Ph.D. who also gave a guest lecture on the campus.
Wulan Patria Saroinsong said, in this exchange program, UNESA students get to know the curriculum they will take as well as campus rules and policies. They attended the first lecture about learning, technology and culture there.
“In that class I also had the opportunity to give a guest lecture. "After the activity, we took a tour of the campus with the students and were introduced to the facilities available at Zhengzhou Information Engineering Vocational College," he said.
In addition , there are also individual consultation sessions with exchange students to discuss their academic needs and ensure their understanding of the local curriculum.
Furthermore, there are also group discussion sessions about practical applications of previous course material. Apart from that, UNESA lecturers and students made visits to local museums to deepen their understanding of the history and culture of Zhengzhou.
Apart from that, there is also a reflective discussion with students regarding their experiences during the exchange and their hopes for the future.
Wulan Patria Saroinsong added that she had the opportunity to teach in regular classes according to the schedule set by Zhengzhou Information Engineering Vocational College. Apart from that, there are additional activities such as technical workshops, visits to local technology companies, or related industry seminars.
He hopes this exchange program to strengthen students' international experience and insight. Furthermore, this is a forum to encourage students to be involved in discourse on global issues and learn many things at the international level.
"Apart from learning about education, technology and culture of the target country, the benefits of this program are also as a forum to introduce Indonesian culture to the world community. "So, there is a goal of strengthening student competence and strengthening cultural diplomacy at the world level," he said.[]
