Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–Graduates of the Air Transportation Vocational School are often considered job secure. In fact, many graduates are faced with the opposite condition. Not everyone gets a job according to their major. Therefore, graduates are required to have other abilities to compete in the world of work, one of which is entrepreneurship.
So that graduates also have entrepreneurial skills, it is necessary to develop an entrepreneurship curriculum. In developing the curriculum, a number of studies are needed as reinforcement, one of which is a dissertation research on "Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Interest in Youth" proposed by Ariyono Setiawan, S.T., M.T at the Open Doctoral Examination of the Postgraduate Vocational Education Study Program, Surabaya State University (UNESA), Friday. (8/4/2022) on the 9th Floor of the CPD Building, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya.
According to the Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic lecturer, although the entrepreneurship curriculum is common in universities. However, for official schools, entrepreneurship is not yet familiar to cadets.
"Therefore, there needs to be additional skills through entrepreneurship learning. The goal is to instill the mindset of cadets, from job seekers to job creators, which is expected to be an alternative in the future for cadets to develop skills and compete in the world of work, "he explained.
Through his dissertation, Ariyono Setiawan examines the factors that influence the entrepreneurial interest of cadets. The main focus is on six variables; self-efficacy, knowledge, motivation and character as exogenous variables; interest and readiness as endogenous variables are also used as endogenous and exogenous variables.
