Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Para Indonesian and French delegations participating in Joint Working Group (JWG) home in these activities. This activity was attended by several important officials such as the Acting Governor of East Java, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The French Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor Leste and ASEAN, Fabien Penone, said that the activities of the 13th Joint Working Group are a concrete form of close cooperation between Indonesia and France.
He emphasized that Indonesia is the main priority in this cooperative relationship, considering the important role of Indonesia in the region Southeast Asia and the great potential it has in various fields, especially education.
"Collaboration like this is very important to strengthen our bilateral relations and encourage the exchange of knowledge and culture between the two countries," he said.

Fabien Penone also mentioned that next year will be a special moment because Indonesia and France will celebrate 75 years of cooperative relations. He hopes that through this event, the two countries can continue to develop innovative and sustainable projects that will bring significant benefits to the people of Indonesia and France and other friendly countries.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Ir. Suharti, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his pride in holding this activity in Surabaya, especially at UNESA.
"There were 317 delegates who attended this educational activity and this shows the strong commitment of the two countries to collaborate and exchange knowledge to create new innovations in the field of education," he said.
Emphasising the importance of collaboration, the gala dinner was attended by all parties participating in JWG 2024.
Prof Dr . Nurhasan, M.Kes, (Cak Hasan) Chancellor of UNESA expressed his appreciation to all parties who have provided support and participated in this activity. Cak Hasan emphasized the importance of collaboration between various parties in improving the quality of education.
Cak Hasan expressed his gratitude to all parties who had provided their support when UNESA together with eight other universities also held the 2024 ASEAN University Games at the same time.
"We really appreciate the presence and willingness to collaborate to produce new ideas for the advancement of education in both countries, (ed)," he said.
Adhy Karyono, as Acting Governor of East Java, underlining East Java's achievements and commitment in the field of education. East Java Province is one of the provinces that is a reference for higher education institutions in Indonesia and is also the number one province with the most participants accepted into Indonesian state universities.
The Acting Governor of East Java conveyed the superiority of East Java to the JWG delegation.
"Education "This is an important indicator in reducing the poverty rate, and this is proven this year, East Java has succeeded in reducing the poverty rate to 1%, the largest decrease in history," he added.
To improve the quality of education, East Java has collaborated with foreign universities to encourage the development of creative industries. After the opening of the first overseas campus in Surabaya, namely Western Sydney University, the King's College campus will be opened in the Greater Malang area.
This gala dinner is expected to be a momentum to strengthen relations and cooperation between Indonesia and France in the field of education, as well as providing valuable cultural experiences for invited guests.[]
