German Literature prepares special lessons to improve students' German competence, such as bringing in alumni who have been successful in the field of translators, either at the Language Center, German Agencies in Surabaya or the Goethe Institute. "The independent learning curriculum has been prepared and adjusted to the outputs that graduates want to achieve, namely as translators in the fields of tourism and journalism," said Yunan.

He added, in Indonesia, there are only four universities that have German Literature study programs, one of which is UNESA. Yunan revealed that the study program does not qualify new students based on their language skills, but is directed to study linguistics, literature, culture and education which is reflected in each course taken.
Students who have passed the language test with a minimum of B1 level, can use their ability to speak German to go to Germany with some interesting programs. Aupair, Ausbildung, FSJ and continuing their master's degree are the usual choices taken by alumni from UNESA German Literature study program to go to Germany.
