Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-The diversity of nature and culture that stretches from Sabang to Merauke makes Indonesia a famous country in the field of tourism. Unfortunately, during the Covid-19 outbreak, the tourism sector became one of the most impactful.
This was discussed jointly between the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), practitioners, academics, and researchers in a National Webinar entitled "Revitalization of the Tourism Sector in the Pandemic Era: Between Economic Recovery and Pandemic Re-implementation" organized by the Center for Legal Studies and Development of Surabaya State University (PKHP UNESA) on Tuesday (02/03/2021).
Present on the occasion, Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, B.B.A., M.B.A., Menparekraf, Dr. H. Emil Elestianto Dardak, B.Bus., M.Sc., Deputy Governor of East Java, Prof. Dr. H.M. Hadin Muhjad, S.H., M.Hum., Professor of State Administrative Law, Lambung Mangkurat University, and Prof. Dr. Suhaidi, S.H., M.H., Professor of International Law, University of North Sumatra.
In his speech, Sandiaga explained that the first sector affected by the pandemic was tourism. Visits in Bali and East Java have decreased dramatically. "I am saddened to hear the stories of friends on the field and we will do our best for his recovery," he said.
Citing central PHRI survey data in September 2020 that there are 1,033 hotel and restaurant businesses that have been forced to close permanently. In addition, data in the field there are about 125-150 restaurants that are closed every month. That has resulted in a decrease in the number of jobs that have impacted already above 2 million. "If you look at the 2.6 million who lost their livelihoods, there are about 10 million more Indonesians who have no income," he explained.
In 2021, continued Sandiaga, should be a year of awakening, all should be optimistic and not constantly sad or complain. Indonesia can certainly get out of the crisis and resolve this situation appropriately. The Ministry of Parliament has made specific policies and strategies to restore the tourism sector and creative economy based on the pillars of innovation, adaptation and collaboration.
He also revealed that he is collaborating with regional heads to improve the quality of health, security and comfort through integrated healthy area programs (KST) in several tourist destinations in East Java with the application of Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment (SHSE).
Emil Elestianto reported that for Bromo Tengger Semeru, East Java is ready to be a pilot project. There are three priority development areas in East Java agreed with Preasiden, namely Surabaya Metropolitan Area, Bromo Tengger Semeru (BTS), and Mataraman or Selingkar Wilis. "The Minister of Pu said the investment auction of Malang-Kepanjen Toll Road is likely to be dilauncing soon. This will be an important accessibility on the slopes of Mount Bromod and its surroundings," he said.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes. Rector of Unesa in his speech said that Unesa is always ready to support government programs in terms of recovery of tourism sector and creative economy. According to him, the era of protesters can not walk alone. All must hold hands and collaborate in a vision of advancing Indonesia and improving the quality of life of Indonesian people.
"Thank you for the presence of all parties," he said. "Hopefully this collaboration and what is discussed on this occasion becomes an important step for the realization of the flagship programs of the center, the region, and Unesa," he hoped.
As the first speaker, Prof. Dr. H.M. Hadin Muhjad, S.H., M.Hum discussed the dynamics of administrative law during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also explained about various policies issued by the government during the pandemic, ranging from visa policies, in and out of foreigners in Indonesia to other policies.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Suhaidi, S.H., M.H. discussed the perspective of international law on the Current Pandemic Covid-19 pandemic and explained what international law protects humanity, or resolves and reduces the impact of pandemic attacks and the pros and cons in them.
On that occasion, also attended by the Chairman of PKHP UNESA Dr. Hananto Widodo, SH., MH., Dean of the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences Unesa Dr. Totok Suyanto, M.Pd., Head of The Department of Social and Legal Sciences Unesa Arinto Nugroho.
