Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA - Safeguarding the National Press Day (HPN) 2025. As a pillar of democracy, hopefully the press remains victorious and the spirit of guarding the truth, voicing justice, and inspiring in building and contributing to the country.
The fragment was spoken by the Chancellor of Unesa Nurhasan or Cak Hasan representing the Unesa extended family on the commemoration of HPN 2025, Sunday, February 9, 2025.
The Chancellor of Unesa said that the history of the nation's journey could not be separated from the role and press contributions. Therefore, the press must be present to guard the journey of this nation, fill the niche of information and educate.
"In the dynamics of this growing era, the press must remain the frontline in conveying accurate information, educating, and enlightening the public," said Cak Hasan.
On that occasion, the Professor of Sports Sciences Faculty of Sports and Health (FIKK) Unesa highlighted and appreciated the spirit behind the big theme of this year's HPN, "the press oversees food security for the nation's independence."
For him, this theme is a representation of the duties and functions of the press in maintaining the nation's sovereignty in the interests of the Indonesian people.
In addition, the theme is 'projecting' the direction and great hopes of this nation in the future, namely independence which is one of the ways through joint efforts to realize food security.
According to Cak Hasan, to realize food security, all elements of this nation, the government, including the press, and universities must work together in the same mission for Indonesia.
"We are indeed different roles, but our goals and hopes are the same, namely developing a strong, intelligent and prosperous Indonesia," said the Chairperson of the Indonesian Rector Forum (FRI).
The spirit of the theme of HPN 2025 is in line with the purpose and ideals of Unesa behind the opening of the Faculty of Food Security. There are four study programs prepared for the new faculty.
The study program in question is S-1 Aquaculture, S-1 Animal Biosciences, S-1 Food Technology and Agricultural Products, and S-1 Digital Agribusiness. All of these study programs have entered the new student admission path this year, both SNBP, SNBT, and Mandiri.
Cak Hasan stressed, the opening of this new faculty is part of the commitment and spirit of UNESA to realize food security and national independence.
"Because in our opinion, the great ideals of our nation must be realized together, and the most important thing is the HR through education. Finally, Happy National Press Day, UNESA consistently becomes a friend of the press, remains victorious, tough, and adaptive, "concluded Cak Hasan. [Public Relations Team]
