The NYP Singapore delegation undergoing OELP was warmly welcomed by UNESA leadership.
Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Collaboration with the Office of International Affairs (OIA) or Subdirectorates/offices International Affairs Surabaya State University (UNESA) and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) Singapore produced the Overseas Experience Learning Program (OELP) activity on Monday, September 23 2024.
The activity took place in the Auditorium UNESA Rectorate Campus 2 Lidah Wetan is an international learning program designed to provide global exposure to students, as well as provide an in-depth understanding of culture in the ASEAN, China and India (ACI) region.
Welcomes the ongoing program from 23 - 27 September 2024, Director of Information and Communication Technology and Cooperation at UNESA, Slamet Setiawan said that this activity provides an opportunity for students to gain international experience and shows that universities in Indonesia have been selected as the best this year.
According to him, this activity has very high values to provide meaningful experiences in Asia, including China, India and Southeast Asia, so that related parties can appreciate the richness of diverse cultures in this region.
Over the next five days, international students participating in this program will be involved in a variety of engaging activities, including industry courses, cultural intelligence courses, expert-led content exploration, and other programs.
Furthermore this program is designed not only to increase technological knowledge, but also to provide a deeper understanding of cultural and industrial conditions. "We will utilize the technology and learning methods that we have developed to create programs that will have a positive impact on all of Indonesia," he said.
Delegate from Singapore's Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Mr. Foo Yong Wee, expressed his pride in being able to collaborate with UNESA in making the international program a success that emerged after the Covid-19 pandemic. This program has a big vision, namely reminding students that 70 percent of their study abroad experience will have an impact on educational contributions in the ASEAN-China-India (ACI) region.
“We grateful that UNESA has received this collaboration well. "We hope that this relationship can continue, so that our students here can make friends and interact with each other, and have the opportunity to visit each other in the future," he said.
For additional information, this activity was also attended Other NYP delegates were Lee Beng Kwang and Hengky Chang. Meanwhile, the NYP students involved in this activity included Chua Yong Yu, Naimi Irdina Binte Mohamad Isfar, Lin Wenxin, and Naureen Anakkot Shameer.
Then the other students were Ashton Nate Chan, Umoh Princess Ezekeil, Alisha Binte Zahid, Victoria Kwok Mei Ling, and Ngiam Shu Qing Alicia. Then there are Muhammad Faheem bin Noor Haidi, Kwok Ziz Ping, Muhammed Shafiq bin Adnan, Darren Lim Jiang Feng, and K Saleema D/O Kuthubudeen.
The agenda that will be carried out by the 14 international students includes an industry visit to trust company, and an industry visit to CV Ide Karya Semesta. Afterwards there will be a cultural and historical site visit to Pokdarwis Sambi Arum, Heroes Monument and Submarine Monument. Then on the last day there will be a guest lecture, campus tour, and closing. (*)
