Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-Coinciding with the National Education Day (Hardiknas), Surabaya State University (UNESA) decided to provide special scholarships for all sons and daughters of soldiers who were declared dead in the sinking of the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine in Bali waters on April 21, 2021.
UNESA Rector Prof. Dr. Nurhasan., M.Kes. said that the free education offered by Unesa was a special scholarship for children of submarine crews who wanted to study at Unesa. The education scheme is free from start to finish of study.
"This scholarship is completely free. Not only for victims who came from Surabaya or East Java, but for all the children of the 53 soldiers who died, we prepared them in Unesa. Even those from outside East Java, we have prepared and this is for all child victims, "he said.
The education levels offered by Unesa are starting from elementary to secondary education or kindergarten, elementary, junior high to high school or vocational high school at UNESA Labschool. Apart from that, there are also scholarships for the D4, undergraduate (S-1), postgraduate (S-2), and also undergraduate (S-3) programs of all majors or study programs at UNESA.
The man who is usually called Cak Hasan explained that it was fitting for Unesa to provide space for the children of the victims. Because, according to him, soldiers who died in their duties to protect the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia were national patriots. "Therefore, we at UNESA give full respect and appreciation to true soldiers through free education for their children," he said.
"As the Chancellor of Unesa and on behalf of the entire Unesa academic community, I would like to express my deep sorrow for the sinking of KRI Nanggala 402 and the death of the nation's patriots. This is our common sorrow, the sorrow of Indonesia, ”he said. "Hopefully the soldiers will have a glorious place in the side of Almighty God and the families will be given courage," he hoped.
