Education in Indonesia must continue to innovate in order to compete at the international level. Surabaya State University as one of the teacher printing universities also implemented innovations in improving the quality of education through a symposium on research on teachers on Saturday (9/6) at the Rectors Auditorium on the 3rd floor Unesa.
The event with the theme of increasing the number or improving the quality of the teacher received very good appreciation from various circles. Besides teachers from all over Indonesia the symposium was also attended by Prof. Dr. Muchlas Samani M.Pd. (Rector of Unesa) Prof. Dr. Wiendu Nuryati (Deputy Minister of Education and Culture) Syaifullah Yusuf (Deputy Governor of East Java) Dr. Harun M.Sc. M.M. (Head of East Java Education Office) Ir. H. Adi Darma M.Sc. (Mayor of Bontang) representatives from the world bank BTN Director Telkom representatives and a number of Unesa students.
In addition to the presentation of research results an exhibition of scientific works from teachers and students was also displayed in the form of books about the world of education which were released on 2 May 2012. Through this activity I hope there is something that can be used as inspiration at the government level to always get used to writing said Gus Ipul (familiar greeting of the East Java Deputy Governor) on the sidelines of his speech.
In line with Gus Ipul Prof. Dr. Wiendu Nuryati said that innovative thoughts are needed for innovation in the world of Indonesian education. Therefore the role of the teacher is very important especially their creativity in improving the quality of education. "Education requires a lot of innovation" he said. (Nov-PR / syt)
