UNESA.ac.id, SURABAYA-UNESA held a virtual “National Seminar for Mandarin Language & Literature Students” on Sunday, October 31, 2021. This event presented 3 speakers, namely Ahmad Zidki Asrori as chairman of the UNESA Mandarin Language & Literature HMJ, Yorietza Marttiviany as chairman of the BEM for Mandarin Language Education, Jakarta State University (UNJ) and also Nur Akbar Erwiansyah M. as the chairman of HMJ Mandarin Language Education, State University of Malang (UM).
Syaiful Anam, Ph.D. in his speech said that this webinar was conceptualized differently than usual, where all the speakers were young people, especially students. "Lecturers and experts who talk about this material are used to it, now it's time for young people to take part and get involved with their unique perspective," he said.
With the theme "Structural Analysis of Poetry by the Hongwu Emperor", Ahmad Zidki Asrori first conveyed about a 100-word poem (The Hundred-Word Eulogy) addressed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, the work of the Chinese Emperor of the Ming dynasty who is commonly referred to as the Hongwu Emperor. According to him, even though the emperor never met the Prophet Muhammad, but the stories of the prophet and all his examples made the emperor admire him.
This poem is classified as classical Chinese poetry, in which there is a physical structure which includes (1) diction, (2) presentation, (3) imaging, (4) typography. The poem also contains an inner structure which includes themes, feelings, and messages.
Meanwhile, Yorietza Marttiviany delivered the material "The Development of Chinese Culture on Interest in Learning Mandarin". According to him, the meaning of culture is divided into two parts, namely broad such as the results of activities or behavior and narrow for example art. In its development, culture has a dynamic nature, causing change and growth.
Chinese culture itself has gone through various processes to get to modern times, some examples of modern Chinese culture at this time include C-POP (Chinese pop music industry), Chinese dramas/films, Manhua (comic made in China), Donghua (animation made in China). China), as well as the trend of Chinese Street Fashion.
In the next material, Nur Akbar Erwiansyah explained about "Increasing Attractiveness in Learning Mandarin through the Chinese Cultural Competition". According to him, the public's interest and stigma in viewing the Mandarin language can be increased in a competition performance and Chinese cultural arts performance or commonly known as "Zhongwen Bisai" which includes various competitions such as Shufa (the art of calligraphy writing Chinese letters/sentences), and speech competitions. by using mandarin.
