Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) held a healthy walk with different colored shoes attended by leadership and academics in the Rectorate's yard, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya on Saturday, September 9 2023 morning.
The 'diversity' health walk involving around three thousand students, lecturers and staff has once again recorded UNESA at the Indonesian Museum of World Records (MURI) as a university that organizes a health walk with different colored shoes.
First in Indonesia
MURI Senior Manager, Triyono, expressed his appreciation for UNESA's various unique and interesting breakthroughs that routinely break records. In no more than one month, there have been around 3 MURI records received by UNESA. So overall UNESA has broken its 10th record at MURI.
"Based on our data, UNESA's MURI record for health walking in different colored shoes is unique and this is the first in Indonesia. I think "The message conveyed behind it is the meaning of unity in diversity," he said.
The health walk is the highlight of UNESA's 59th Anniversary and commemoration of National Sports Day (Haornas) 2023. This activity was initiated by UNESA Chancellor Cak Hasan has always worn 'mixed' shoes in his daily life.
On various occasions, Cak Hasan always appears in his signature shoes which have been openly appreciated by state officials, from the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly to the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir.
For Cak Hasan, shoes of different colors are not just a lifestyle or mere style, but have a special mission, namely to ground the meaning of harmonious differences. The different colors of the right and left shoes are a symbol of difference or diversity that complement each other, in line and together.

"Our goal is actually to educate and change the mindset that we must respect differences. Don't let the mere matter of being different divide us. Differences should not be questioned, because they are God's gift that we need to care for together. Anyway "The Republic of Indonesia is a fixed price," he said.
Cak Hasan's enthusiasm does not only extend to a healthy path, but also trying to ground the shoes of diversity in society. For this reason, his party is working together to produce mixed shoes (different colors) through PT Corponesa and Edunesa Mall with Ardiles, a local industry.
"The spirit is that we are proud of local products. We have produced around a thousand shoes, including those "Academics are wearing them for today's activities. We are also marketing these shoes at Edunesa Mall, and can also be found online," explained Cak Hasan.
For your information, the 2023 UNESA and Haornas Anniversary Festival consists of various activities , apart from the healthy walk, there was also the launch of PT Corponesa and Edunesa Mall, the release of 2 thousand birds and various competition categories.
This activity was also attended by the ranks of vice chancellors, directors-deputy directors, deans-deputy deans, Korprodi Selingkung UNESA. Bank Jatim officials were also seen at the event which was attended by various guest stars. [*]
