Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya–Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia collaborate in civil engineering research. The two campuses collaborate in Green Concrete Research or environmentally friendly concrete research.
In addition, collaboration in the fields of publication, community service, exchange of professors and researchers for research, lectures, and discussions. Even in the near future UNESA and RMIT will develop cooperation in the field of sports, especially the development of sport science or research supporting tools sport science, especially badminton and pencak silat.
The cooperation agreement or MoU was virtually signed by Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., Rector of Unesa and Professor Peter Coloe, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of RMIT University, Australia on Thursday (25/2/2021).
In his speech, Prof. Nurhasan said that Unesa's cooperation with one of the best universities in Australia and the world is the best opportunity in improving the quality of research and expanding the field of science between Unesa and RMIT.
Rector added that the partnership between Unesa and RMIT originated from a personal relationship between Dr. Arie Wardhono from Unesa and Dr. David Law from RMIT through cooperation in research and joint programs. The partnership paid off, and benefited both parties through the World Class Professor program or WCP. "I extend our greatest pleasure and honor to partner with RMIT as one of the best universities in the world. In the future, hopefully this cooperation can continue on a larger and significant scale," he said.
On that occasion, Professor Peter Coloe also expressed his deepest gratitude to UNESA for the cooperation and all the preparation of the collaboration. According to him, the relationship is very important, and very meaningful for the opening of better opportunities for both campuses in the future, especially in improving the quality of education and research that is more innovative and advanced in the future. He considers that the cooperation is a productive collaboration in encouraging the improvement of the quality of education both in RMIT and in Unesa. At the end of his presentation, Peter Coloe also expressed his readiness and pleasure at the invitation of Rector Unesa to collaborate in the field of research and development of Sport Science which in the near future will be realized.
The signing ceremony from RMIT was also attended by Professor Sujeeva Setunge, Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, STEM College, Dr. David Law, Senior Lecturer, School of Engineering, STEM College, and Daniela Reichert, Senior Advisor for Global Partnerships.
From Unesa, in addition to the rector, also attended by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd., Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance, Suprapto, M.T., Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Agus Hariyanto, M.Kes., and Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation, Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd. also attended the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Maspiyah, M.Kes., Head of The Office of International Affairs, Mr. Asrori, M.Pd., and Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Engineering Arie Wardhono, S.T., M.MT., M.T., Ph.D. (Hasna/Zam)
