Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The Chancellor of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) attended a meeting of the Indonesian State University Chancellor Council (MRPTNI) meeting at Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Surakarta on Monday (13/09/2021). The meeting was attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo.
In addition, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbud-Ristek) Nadiem Anwar Makarim, B.A., M.B.A., Director General of Diktiristek, Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc, Ph.D, ASEAN. Eng and Director General of Vocational Education Mendikbud-Ristek, Wikan Sakarinto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Then there is also the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, M.A.P., Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Ir. Pramono Anung, Minister of State Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc., Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, S.H., M.I.P., and 35 Chancellors of PTN were present at UNS. Meanwhile, around 55 rectors and directors of state universities in Indonesia participated online.
The head of the MRPTNI, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M. Hum. The meeting discussed several important issues, including the implementation of face-to-face learning or lectures in universities and the implementation of vaccinations in universities as well as the role of universities in efforts to prevent and control Covid-19 in the community.
In addition, it also discussed the new paradigm of higher education autonomy, improving the quality of human resources for lecturers and graduates, collaboration and synergy between universities and industry, the balance of the ratio of the number of lecturers to students, to the issue of the fate of new PTN and PTNBH lecturers who did not receive a new PNS allocation.
Then also attention to strengthening research and innovation as pillars of superior centers of science and technology, implementation of the Independent Learning-Independent Campus in collaboration with the business world and the industrial world. "Regarding many things, of course it cannot be finished in one meeting, but will be discussed again at the next meeting," he said.
UNESA Chancellor Prof. Nurhasan., M.Kes., said that the role of campuses in preventing, handling and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic needs to continue. This is because, even though the pandemic cases are starting to slow down, a clean and healthy lifestyle and people's behavior must be maintained and even improved. So that the pandemic is completely gone and ends in the homeland and people's lives can return to normal.
According to him, universities must indeed be the driving force for changing people's behavior, both through their service programs, the role of graduates and their innovations. Then the problem of face-to-face learning was also discussed on that occasion thoroughly how the scheme would go forward. At UNESA itself, he continued, the PTM scheme had been prepared in advance. However, it will be adjusted according to the results of joint discussions at the meeting.
“What is clear is that everything will be discussed, problems are sought together with solutions. This is a commitment from the government and universities in ending the pandemic and improving the quality of universities in Indonesia," he said. (UNESA PR)
